“#Rick Moranis attack part of trend de Blasio can’t, or won’t, solve<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n \u201cGhostbusters\u201d star Rick Moranis, 67, got clocked by a passerby in an I [Heart] NY sweatshirt who punched him in the head without warning. Moranis, stunned, found himself picking himself up off the pavement on Central Park West with pain in his head, back and hip.<\/p>\n

Isolated incident, or the latest in a worrying trend?<\/p>\n

Aug. 23<\/strong>: A 66-year-old man was walking west on West 129th Street when a man came up and smashed him on the back of the head several times with a bottle.<\/p>\n

July 27<\/strong>: A 68-year-old woman standing on the L train platform at Sixth Avenue and 14th Street was kicked and struck by a man who then pushed her onto the tracks. \u201cBeing that he called her a \u2018cracker,\u2019 we are thinking it\u2019s just because she\u2019s white,\u201d said the victim\u2019s daughter.<\/p>\n

July 17<\/strong>: An 89-year-old woman walking near 16th Avenue and 77th Street in Bensonhurst was slapp<\/a>ed by two men who came up behind her. One of them set her shirt on fire with a match or lighter.<\/p>\n

June 12<\/strong>: A 92-year-old woman hit her head on a fire hydrant after a man passing by casually shoved her to the ground near Gramercy Park. \u201cWhen they helped me up, I said \u2018What happened\u2019 because I didn\u2019t even know what happened. It was completely out of the blue,\u201d the woman said. Rashid Brimmage, 31, of the Bronx, was later charged in the attack, the 103rd time he\u2019d been arrested in New York City.<\/p>\n

June 10<\/strong>: A 78-year-old woman walking in Bushwick was struck in the head by a man walking by. Video of the incident showed the man reacting as though he was the victim of an offense.<\/p>\n

Gotta say, not sure that $1.25 billion mental health program Mayor Bill de Blasio set up to give his wife something to do is working out so well. De Blasio\u2019s idea of filling three Upper West Side hotels with derelicts and mentally ill men doesn\u2019t look like such a great idea either. Is it racist or heartless to complain that too many senior citizens and beloved comic actors are getting punched in the head?<\/p>\n

Where has BdB himself been throughout all of this? Well, he\u2019s denouncing Donald Trump for complying with federal tax laws such as the Obama policy of allowing deductions for previous years\u2019 business losses (which resulted in Barry writing Donny a $73 million check).<\/p>\n

As for crime, though, whenever Blowhard Bill takes a side, it\u2019s usually the criminals\u2019. Last year de Blasio\u2019s \u201cbail reform\u201d launched, and criminals laughed. No bail or pretrial detention for misdemeanors and even lots of felonies? This was better than a get-out-of-jail-free card, it was a never-go-to-jail-in-the-first-place card. Also in 2019, de Blasio started handing out gift cards and Mets tickets to anyone who bothered to show up for a court date. (Not that anyone would risk his freedom for a Mets ticket.) De Blasio defended the policy by saying it\u2019s what \u201cexperts\u201d wanted. Good thing those guys are infallible.<\/p>\n

Oh, and then he cut a billion dollars from the NYPD budget, because they\u2019re obviously to blame for what happened a thousand miles away in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

De Blasio is promising a crackdown, though: Just this week, he swore he\u2019d go after cops who don\u2019t wear masks. Granny-shovers meanwhile will go about their business, knowing that you can get arrested 103 times without much effect.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an idea if you want to show us you still care, Billy Blazes: Shut down your wife\u2019s billion-dollar boondoggle, reduce her $2 million staff budget by 90 percent and redirect that money to the police. Then convince the cops you\u2019ve got their back, get out of their way and let them do their jobs. That is, if you can squeeze in time for this during those few hours a day when you\u2019re not whining about Donald Trump.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
