{"id":81022,"date":"2020-10-02T21:56:26","date_gmt":"2020-10-02T18:56:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/most-people-have-been-prioritizing-others-over-themselves-this-year\/"},"modified":"2020-10-02T21:56:26","modified_gmt":"2020-10-02T18:56:26","slug":"most-people-have-been-prioritizing-others-over-themselves-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/most-people-have-been-prioritizing-others-over-themselves-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"#Most people have been prioritizing others over themselves this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Most people have been prioritizing others over themselves this year<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n                        A third of Americans would spend over $500 to have just one completely stress-free day right now, a new study found.<\/p>\n<p>The survey of 2,000 Americans revealed three in five feel \u201cconstantly on edge\u201d given the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Results found one in five admitted they feel \u201cdrained\u201d most days while 13 percent are in a constant state of exhaustion.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16391120\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"1331\" class=\"alignnone size-nypost-inline-default wp-image-16391120 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/Stress_Research.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=300 300w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/Stress_Research.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=640 640w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/Stress_Research.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=800 800w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/Stress_Research.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=600 600w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 300px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span class=\"credit\">SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As Americans continue to push through 2020, many confessed to putting others before themselves, to a potentially unhealthy degree \u2014 which is likely only adding to their stress levels.<\/p>\n<p>Almost two-thirds (64 percent) said they\u2019ve been prioritizing other people over themselves and the average respondent has been going above and beyond for about four people.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s, therefore, no surprise that 59 percent are struggling with self-care amid the pandemic \u2014 in spite of spending so much additional time at home.<\/p>\n<p>The survey, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iherb.com\/\">iHerb<\/a>, revealed the average person only takes 25 minutes for self-care a day.<\/p>\n<p>Respondents clearly think Americans need more \u201cme-time\u201d since nearly two in five (38 percent) feel they need more than 30 minutes of self-care to be their best self.<\/p>\n<p>With so much stress resulting from work, the pandemic and current events, it\u2019s no wonder 86 percent think taking time alone to disconnect is a vital part of self-care.<\/p>\n<p>While 38 percent have tried a new form of self-care during COVID-19, only 9 percent have tried to find a little alone time in their routine.<\/p>\n<p>New methods of self-care respondents have been exploring during the pandemic included exercise (22 percent), stretching\/yoga (18 percent), supplements (18 percent) and skincare (17 percent).<\/p>\n<p>All this is to help with a variety of ailments respondents have been struggling with since the start of the virus.<\/p>\n<p>The most common concern for respondents is their energy levels (45 percent) while two in five have been searching for a way to improve their sleep.<\/p>\n<p>Over a third would like to boost their immunity or want to focus better (34 percent).<\/p>\n<p>\u201dIt is especially important during the global COVID pandemic that everyone has equal ability to help improve their health and quality of life,\u201d said iHerb President Emun Zabihi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis data shows that self-care is more important than ever. Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, has recommended taking vitamin D supplements and iHerb has seen a demand for vitamin D and C.
