\n The NFL is salvaging one marquee Week 4 matchup that was impacted by the rash of positive COVID-19 cases around the league.<\/p>\n

The Patriots vs. Chiefs game<\/a> that was originally scheduled for Sunday is set to kick off Monday night at 7:05 p.m., according to ESPN<\/a>, after the Patriots and Chiefs returned zero new positive tests Sunday. With a Monday night doubleheader, kickoff for the originally scheduled \u201cMonday Night Football\u201d game between the Packers and Falcons will be pushed back to 8:50 p.m. The Patriots-Chiefs game will air on CBS.<\/p>\n

Sources told ESPN\u2019s Dianna Russini<\/a> that the Patriots were told during a Sunday morning meeting their matchup against the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs will happ<\/a>en Monday, and the team is set to fly to Kansas City Monday morning.<\/p>\n

The highly anticipated AFC matchup had been initially postponed after New England quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for the virus on Saturday, though the exact date had not been determined at the time. Jordan Ta\u2019amu, a practice squad quarterback for the Chiefs, also reportedly tested positive. All other Patriots and Chiefs were cleared in test results each team received Sunday morning. Both teams will be tested again Monday morning, according to ESPN.<\/p>\n

Newton has been placed on the COVID-19\/reserve list. Next on the New England quarterback depth chart are journeyman backup Brian Hoyer \u2014 who is expected to get the start \u2014 and 2019 fourth-rounder Jarrett Stidham.<\/p>\n

Patriots-Chiefs was one of three Week 4 games in doubt amid positive COVID-19 tests. Titans-Steelers had been postponed to a later date in the season after 18 members of the Titans organization tested positive.<\/p>\n

Saints-Lions will take place as scheduled at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday after a test \u2014 which was later revealed to be a false positive \u2014 jeopardized that game\u2019s status.<\/p>\n

No additional positive tests were reported across the NFL on Sunday morning<\/a>.\n <\/div>\n
