“#Trump eager to return to campaign trail after COVID-19: aides<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n President Trump is raring to beat the coronavirus and get back out on the campaign trail, advisors for his re-election bid said Sunday.<\/p>\n

The commander-in-chief remains hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center \u2014 at least until Monday \u2014 but has been discussing the race via phone with campaign honchos.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOnce he gets out of the hospital, he\u2019s ready to get back to the campaign trail,\u201d senior campaign advisor Jason Miller told Chuck Todd<\/a>, host of \u201cMeet the Press\u201d on NBC. \u201cHe sounded pretty energetic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steve Cortes, also a senior advisor on the campaign, told Chris Wallace<\/a> on \u201cFox News<\/a> Sunday\u201d that it would only be a matter of time before Trump was back on the stump.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was as upbeat and assertive as he\u2019s ever been,\u201d said Cortes, describing a Saturday phone call between Trump and senior campaign staff. \u201cThis president is going to recover.\u201d<\/p>\n
