\n Iconoclast: Media\u2019s Mad Race Obsession<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first presidential debate was \u201catrocious\u201d \u2014 but, argues Spiked \u00adOnline\u2019s Brendan O\u2019Neill<\/a>, the media\u2019s race-obsessed coverage \u201chasn\u2019t been much better.\u201d President Trump\u2019s ambiguous words on the right-wing Proud Boys \u201chave whipped up global fury and rejuvenated the chattering classes\u2019 beloved pastime of Trump-bashing. See, Trump is a white supremacist, they\u2019re saying.\u201d Trump\u2019s subsequent clarification was of no avail, and the prestige press didn\u2019t consider the possibility that he merely misspoke. The bigger problem is that \u201cthe media elite\u2019s obsession with white-supremacist groups\u201d suggests a corresponding blindness to the depredations of the hard left. \u201cIt isn\u2019t the Proud Boys who have harassed diners and stormed into suburbia calling people \u2018motherf\u200a-\u200a-\u200a-\u200aers\u2019 and insisting that they bow down to the supposedly correct political worldview \u2014 it is the upper-middle-class, often white supporters of BLM who have done that.\u201d<\/p>\n

From the right: Big Tech for Biden<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite the benign name,\u00a0the Transition Integrity Project is \u201ca massive operation \u2014 cosigned by the most powerful media, business and political interests in the country \u2014 performing Biden\u2019s dirty work behind the scenes,\u201d warns July Kelly of American Greatness<\/a>.\u00a0A think tank closely linked to the group is full of \u201cSilicon Valley tycoons and other assorted billionaires hell-bent on taking down this president\u201d \u2014 including a co-founder of LinkedIn, a Google boss and a co-founder of Snapchat. The goal, according to TIP\u2019s \u201cbattle plan,\u201d is to extend the election long past Election Day, with action \u201cin the courts, in the media and in the streets through peaceful protest,\u201d likely aimed at preventing the incumbent from claiming victory, even if he app<\/a>ears to have won the Electoral College. TIP activists view themselves resisting authoritarianism,\u00a0yet their Big Tech friends don\u2019t hesitate to use authoritarian means, including, in Snapchat\u2019s case, censoring President Trump\u2019s account. And given Big Tech\u2019s mastery over communication, \u201ctheir ability to sway the outcome of the presidential election is real \u2014 and terrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Culture critic: Feminists Should Love ACB<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though Amy Coney Barrett has a successful career and family life, modern feminists see her pro-life stance as a \u201creason to not let her be part of the feminist club,\u201d notes The Post Millennial\u2019s Libby Emmons<\/a>. Hysterical attacks against Barrett prove that \u201ccontemporary American feminism only supports women that toe the progressive line,\u201d instead of focusing on winning \u201cequality under the law for women, regardless of their political views.\u201d In \u201cold terms\u201d of standing up for women and pursuing success, \u201cBarrett is the ultimate feminist.\u201d But she \u201cdoesn\u2019t do what she\u2019s told, and that\u2019s what feminists really can\u2019t stand.\u201d<\/p>\n

COVID chronicle: Cuo\u2019s Vaccine Irresponsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gov. Cuomo\u2019s COVID-19 news<\/a> conferences long ago degenerated into farce, charges Joel Zinburg at City Journal<\/a>, but his \u201crecent discussion of what New York will do when the Food and Drug \u00adAdministration approves a COVID-19 vaccine\u201d was a new low. To wit, Cuomo said he wouldn\u2019t trust federal approval of the vaccine and would instead have Empire State scientists test it. Really? \u201cSo instead of relying on the FDA, which has been evaluating drug safety and effectiveness for 60 years, Cuomo will rely on a state Department of Health that has no expertise in evaluating clinical trials to assess the safety and efficacy of new products?\u201d It just goes to show that for Cuomo, all that matters is \u201cdeflecting attention from his own failed pandemic response and pointing fingers at political opponents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Woke watch: The New Cultural Revolution<\/strong><\/p>\n

Simon Jenkins was once \u201cdisinclined to take\u201d critical theory \u201ctoo seriously,\u201d he writes at The Times Literary Supplement<\/a>. \u201cIt holds that truth in all forms is subjective, a function of power exerted by the privileged over the victimized.\u201d That\u2019s ridiculous, but \u201cits adoption of militant direct action to enforce its creed\u201d has made it dangerous \u2014 \u201ca totalitarian cult\u201d whose \u201cadherents seek to persecute those who disagree with them.\u201d And unfortunately, \u201cpersecution is transformed by digital media, which can be targeted at individuals with all the summary justice of a Wild West lynch mob.\u201d \u2014 Compiled by The Post Editorial Board\n <\/div>\n
