There are several different ways you can lock your Windows 10 PC\u00a0like the Windows key+L keyboard shortcut. If your Windows key is broken but you still want a quick way to lock your PC, create a desktop shortcut.<\/p>\n

First, right-click anywhere on the Desktop and a menu will app<\/a>ear. Here, hover your cursor over the \u201cNew\u201d option and then select \u201cShortcut\u201d from the submenu.<\/p>\n

Once selected, the \u201cCreate Shortcut\u201d window will appear. Here, type or paste the following command in the \u201cType The Location Of The Item\u201d text box, and then click the \u201cNext\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Next, give your new shortcut a name. Type in a name that complements its functionality so that you (or anyone else using the PC) will know exactly what it does. Type the name in the box under \u201cType A Name For This Shortcut.\u201d Once ready, click \u201cFinished.\u201d<\/p>\n
