It can\u2019t be complete anarchy, where people take over entire portions of cities and rename them like a\u00a0<em>Family Guy<\/em> episode. Conversely, no society works as completely authoritarian. Canceling\u00a0<em>Cops<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Live PD<\/em> serves no beneficial purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Where we can meet in the middle is despising and fighting the ridiculous cancel culture that has created a scenario where people are seriously protesting cartoon dogs and disarming a cartoon character created in the 1930s. This is not The Onion; it\u2019s real life. What follows are five reasons canceling\u00a0<em>Cops<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Live PD<\/em> is completely counterproductive.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Its_counterproductive_because_there_is_no_good_reason_to_cancel\"><\/span>1. It\u2019s counterproductive because there is no good reason to cancel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>First of all, canceling the show doesn\u2019t help. Neither <em>Live PD<\/em> nor <em>Cops<\/em> was causing any issues. There wasn\u2019t a large assortment of negative interactions filling the hours of programming.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, canceling the show won\u2019t stop crime.<\/p>\n<p>There won\u2019t be fewer murders. Drug dealers won\u2019t suddenly start <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lying for 9-to-5 jobs. Drunk drivers won\u2019t suddenly stop doing so because their chance to shine on television is gone. People won\u2019t think, \u201cOh,\u00a0<em>Cops<\/em> is canceled. I guess now I should comply with a lawful order, keep my hands off the officer\u2019s taser, and stop breaking the law.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Its_counterproductive_because_removal_ignores_real-life_actual_crimes_that_others_ignore\"><\/span>2. It\u2019s counterproductive because removal ignores real-life, actual crimes that others ignore<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Guess what, folks. Actual crimes take place. Actual drug dealers ruin lives. Murders, arson, rape, manslaughter, kidnapping. All of it literally happens on a daily basis.\u00a0<em>Live PD\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Cops\u00a0<\/em>were transparent views into crimes that are actually affecting the community.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, a lot of it involved the black community. That, however, doesn\u2019t point to some nefarious collection of evil police officers. It merely reflects the\u00a0Bureau for Justice Statistics that proves a disproportionate amount of crime being committed in those neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Its_counterproductive_because_the_shows_displayed_positive_police_interactions\"><\/span>3. It\u2019s counterproductive because the shows displayed positive police interactions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Fact: The overwhelming percentage of police interactions are positive. Between 50 and 60 million\u00a0interactions, every year occur, and less than one percent includes nonfatal force once the perpetrator\u2019s perception is removed from the equation. And the number of people actually shot is roughly 0.00002% based on the total number of interactions.<\/p>\n<p>Canceling either <em>Live PD<\/em> or <em>Cops<\/em> only removes multiple positive examples and only serves to reinforce the opinion\u2014because all the facts say completely otherwise\u2014that police violence and corruption is rampant. Somehow we\u2019re in a bizarro world where everything a law enforcement officer does is repugnant or hateful, and people burning down buildings are freedom fighters. It\u2019s ridiculous, and removing the shows will increase this incorrect perception.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LmvbWT6bJWk?feature=oembed\" width=\"500\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Its_counterproductive_because_it_literally_can_make_crime_harder_to_solve\"><\/span>4. It\u2019s counterproductive because it literally can make crime harder to solve<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The reality is, both of these shows have helped people find missing loved ones. Crowd-sourcing advantages are lessened. Both shows have led to further crimes being solved. An extension of John Walsh and <em>Unsolved Mysteries<\/em>, both <em>Cops<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Live PD\u00a0<\/em>led to a safer, better society because people watched, potentially called in clues or inside knowledge, and aided law enforcement in the difficult endeavor of finding and arresting dangerous criminals.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Its_counterproductive_because_law_enforcement_officers_are_100_mandatory\"><\/span>5. It\u2019s counterproductive because law enforcement officers are 100% mandatory<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Anarchy doesn\u2019t work. Anyone who has seen\u00a0<em>Lord of the Flies<\/em> knows what happens when rules cease to exist. So, canceling\u00a0<em>Cops<\/em> or\u00a0<em>Live PD<\/em> will not remove police officers from society. We should shudder at the thought.<\/p>\n<p>Removing these shows doesn\u2019t remove police. In fact, it won\u2019t even remove the infinitesimal percentage of bad police officers. Pointless.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Unless something drastic changes, <em>Live PD<\/em> and <em>Cops<\/em> are done.
