\nWith the endless drama surrounding the recent Real Housewives<\/em> franchise shakeups, like NeNe Leakes<\/strong> casually calling Andy Cohen<\/strong> \u201cracist\u201d and Denise Richards<\/strong> quitting the show after a bombshell season, Dorinda Medley<\/strong>\u2018s exit from the reality TV show was nearly brushed under the rug!<\/p>\n

But when has she ever done anything quietly??<\/p>\n

App<\/a>earing on Tuesday\u2019s new episode of Bethenny Frankel<\/strong>\u2018s podcast Just B<\/em>, the 55-year-old finally opened up about leaving the series<\/a>, telling her former co-star she \u201cdid not have a good season this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Medley elaborated in the sneak preview obtained by E! News<\/a><\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not gonna make excuses for it, but I was doing real. You know, that\u2019s where I was at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Sharing how her outcome on Real Housewives of New York City<\/em> might have been very different had she taken a year off, the star noted how season 12 was truly a rollercoaster.<\/p>\n

Bethenny explained some context for listeners:<\/p>\n

\u201cShe broke up with her boyfriend, her father got sick and her house flooded.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dorinda divulged herself:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be honest with you, I felt very, very scared going into the season because not only was my life very intense with all the things\u2026the house, my father, [I] broke a rib, breaking up with John<\/strong>\u2026 So it was like, wow\u2026 I was sort of a toothpick in an ocean. I didn\u2019t get my voice out correctly.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Frankel, who left the show last year, agreed, spelling it out on the podcast:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou get in over your skeeze. You drink, something happens, you say something, and then you\u2019re in your head about what you just said, but the show must go on. You\u2019re still filming, there\u2019s still cameras. So that\u2019s what is challenging and that\u2019s where I do feel you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She added:<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody always gets their resurrection season. So the next season, the person is super cautious.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The newly-axed cast member fully acknowledged what viewers saw on Bravo wasn\u2019t her best side, commenting:<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, I had a rough season. But that\u2019s what we do as Housewives. We have good seasons. We have bad seasons. We come back and we change it up.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She even thought she\u2019d have that chance!!<\/p>\n

\u201cI was looking forward to coming back this year. I was looking forward to having that moment. I mean, when I found out when this thing all went down, I was just getting off the phone with this woman who\u2019s doing a Blue Stone Manor gingerbread house. And I\u2019m thinking, \u2018It\u2019s gonna be great for the show! Oh my god, this is gonna be my season. I\u2019m gonna come back \u2019cause everything\u2019s done, I\u2019m in a good place.\u2019 So it really was\u2026you know, no one likes rejection.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bethenny put it best when comparing it to a bad first date:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou hope the guy calls and then you get to go again to just, like, make it nice. You wanted to make it nice! That\u2019s the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So for Dorinda, it was a struggle to accept her fate after gearing up for her resurrection season:<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t talk because I didn\u2019t want to talk. I was ready to go back. I was excited about going back. I was planning on going back. And I thought I would have a great year. I wasn\u2019t given that option. So do with that as you want.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She spilled:<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re calling it a pause, which I don\u2019t really\u2026for me, I\u2019m an old-fashioned girl. If you\u2019re not waitressing and getting paid, you\u2019re not waitressing\u2026 At the end of the day, it was a mutual \u2018no.\u2019 This is pretty much the first time I\u2019ve spoken as honestly outside of you and I talking that I\u2019ve done.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It was previously reported the reality TV star was fired for becoming a \u201cmean drunk,\u201d according to a Page Six<\/em> source, who dished:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf she\u2019d have said [at the end of the season], \u2018Look \u2014 I\u2019ve been depressed and that\u2019s why I\u2019m acting like this,\u2019 or, \u2018I miss my [husband, Richard<\/strong>, who died in 2011],\u2019 and said she\u2019d work on it, I think it would have been different\u2026 That\u2019s just not where they want the show to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Have we seen the last of Dorinda \u2014 and Blue Stone Manor \u2014 for good??<\/p>\n
