\n Atlanta film mogul Tyler Perry will pick up the tab for Rayshard Brooks\u2019 funeral, an attorney for the slain man\u2019s family revealed Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do want to acknowledge and thank Tyler Perry, who we spoke with (and) who will be taking care of the funeral for the family,\u201d lawyer Chris Stewart said during a press conference in the wake of Brooks\u2019 shooting death by an Atalanta cop on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt\u2019s support like that and it\u2019s people who are actually in this community that love the community that want healing and families like this to never have to go through something like this, to step forward. And we want to thank him for such a generous move,\u201d Stewart said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brooks, 27, was killed Friday after a scuffle with cops outside a Wendy\u2019s restaurant in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

Video of the shooting shows Brooks speaking amicably with police officers Garrett Rolfe and Devin Brosnan while taking a field sobriety test.<\/p>\n

But when the cops move to handcuff him Brooks got into a scuffle with the officers and fled \u2014 and was shot twice in the back by Rolfe.<\/p>\n

Rolfe, 27, was fired the following day and could face a murder charge, prosecutors said Sunday.<\/p>\n

Perry, best known for his \u201cMadea\u201d franchise, is known for his charitable acts and contributions.<\/p>\n

Word of his offer to pay for Brooks\u2019 funeral came during a tearful press conference with the slain man\u2019s widow, Tomika Miller, his children, and several cousins.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
