If you regularly use different watch faces for different times of the day, you might be tired of switching between them manually. What if Apple Watch did this automatically? Here how to automatically change your Apple Watch face during the day.<\/p>\n

Ideally, Apple Watch should have a built-in setting for changing watch faces at a specific time. Say, a Modular watch face from 10 AM to 6 PM, and a Photos watch face from 6 PM to 10 AM. While this is still a pipe dream, starting with watchOS 7, you can change your watch face at a specific time using the built-in Shortcuts Automation app on your iPhone.<\/p>\n

The entire setup process works using the Automations feature in the Shortcuts app. Once it\u2019s set up, you can forget about it. You\u2019ll see a notification when the shortcut is triggered.<\/p>\n

To start the setup process, open the \u201cShortcuts\u201d app on your iPhone and then switch to the \u201cAutomation\u201d tab.<\/p>\n

Here, tap the \u201c+\u201d icon in the top-right corner of the screen.<\/p>\n

Select the \u201cPersonal Automation\u201d option.<\/p>\n

From the \u201cNew Automation\u201d section, choose the \u201cTime Of Day\u201d option.<\/p>\n

Here, select the \u201cTime Of Day\u201d option and enter the time when you want to change your watch face. From the \u201cRepeat\u201d section, make sure that the \u201cDaily\u201d option is selected. Then, tap the \u201cNext\u201d button.<\/p>\n

You will now configure the shortcut part of the automation. Here, tap the \u201cAdd Action\u201d button.<\/p>\n

From the search bar, search for and select the \u201cSet Watch Face\u201d action.<\/p>\n

Now, from the \u201cActions\u201d tab, tap the \u201cFace\u201d button.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll see a list of all your watch faces. Choose the watch face you want to switch to.<\/p>\n

The shortcut is now ready. Tap the \u201cNext\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Annoyingly, automations in the Shortcuts app don\u2019t actually trigger automatically by default. They need to be triggered from a notification. Fortunately, you can disable this feature. Tap the toggle next to the \u201cAsk Before Running\u201d option.<\/p>\n

From the pop-up message, choose the \u201cDon\u2019t Ask\u201d option. Your automation will run automatically in the background, and you\u2019ll only see a notification that the shortcut has run.<\/p>\n

Tap the \u201cDone\u201d button from the top to save the automation.<\/p>\n

Your automation is now created. At the designated time, it will be triggered and your watch face will change. You\u2019ll get a Shortcuts notifications on your iPhone and Apple Watch.<\/p>\n

You can repeat this process to create more automations to set different watch faces at different times.<\/p>\n\n
