Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared encouraged by Trump\u2019s support for targeted spending after weeks of watching the fragile stimulus talks, it\u2019s far from certain that the bills he demanded will make it to his desk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile not ideal, the measures would shore up investor confidence and provide a temporary buffer with businesses and households, but I\u2019m not sure the Democrats will back a piecemeal approach,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketpulse.com\/20201007\/us-open-trump-taking-big-gambles\/\">said<\/a> Craig Erlam, senior market analyst at OANDA.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s sudden move to kill another stimulus deal followed a grim Tuesday warning from Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell, who said the nation\u2019s nascent recovery from the coronavirus crisis could fall apart if policymakers don\u2019t keep up aggressive efforts to support the economy.<\/p>\n<p>But some experts have already predicted that another big spending package won\u2019t arrive until early 2021, after the hotly contested presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarkets have grown accustomed to Washington threatening to kill the hostage, but not actually doing so,\u201d said Isaac Boltansky, director of policy research at Compass Point Research &amp;
