\n Bubba Wallace recently had \u201cBlack Lives Matter\u201d emblazoned on his No. 43 car. Before his next race, perhaps he\u2019ll consider adding that Ray Ciccarelli \u201cdoesn\u2019t really matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wallace, NASCAR\u2019s only African-American driver, helped spark the company\u2019s widely praised new policy to outlaw the presence of traditionally omnipresent Confederate flags at NASCAR events, but found criticism from Ciccarelli, who threatened to quit racing due to his displeasure with the new stance.<\/p>\n

Wallace, 26, hasn\u2019t given much thought to Ciccarelli\u2019s comments, mostly because the second-place finisher in the 2018 Daytona 500 hasn\u2019t ever given any thought to the 50-year-old part-time driver in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series<\/a>, who has zero wins, zero top-five finishes and has never led a lap in 32 career NASCAR races.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve only seen one driver, and I wouldn\u2019t really call him a competitor. I haven\u2019t really seen him much on the track,\u201d Wallace said of Ciccarelli on MSNBC. \u201cThe guys I\u2019m racing with, my peers, they\u2019re supportive of NASCAR and supportive of my stance on everything and that means a lot.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne driver I haven\u2019t heard much about in years doesn\u2019t really count, doesn\u2019t really matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wallace previously said he was \u201cbaffled\u201d by Ciccarelli\u2019s since-deleted post on Facebook<\/a>, in which the latter wrote: \u201cWell, it\u2019s been a fun ride and dream come true but if this is the direction NASCAR is headed, we will not participate after 2020 season is over,\u201d the post read. \u201cI don\u2019t believe in kneeling during Anthem nor taken ppl right to fly what ever flag they love.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could care less about the Confederate Flag, but there are ppl that do and it doesn\u2019t make them a racist all you are doing is (expletive) one group to cater to another and i ain\u2019t spend the money we are to participate in any political BS!! So everything is for SALE!!\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
