\n Beware the carefully script<\/a>ed puffball \u201ctown halls\u201d that have been organized by CNN and NBC to help Joe Biden\u2019s campaign. As the ex-veep makes a virtue out of having tiny, underpopulated \u201ccampaign events\u201d for the TV cameras, these provide the fraudulent illusion of Biden engaging with genuinely undecided voters. The questions are toothless and are designed to promote answers that impress the audience as thoughtful and measured.<\/p>\n

A charade, in other words.<\/p>\n

The first words out of NBC anchorman Lester Holt\u2019s mouth on Oct. 5 were \u201cGood evening, everyone. Welcome to tonight\u2019s town hall where we are surrounded by dozens of undecided voters.\u201d Listening to the questions disqualifies that claim.<\/p>\n

For example, Holt presented Ingrid Gilliam-Alexander as \u201cundecided but leaning toward Biden.\u201d She insisted Trump was \u201cbullying\u201d Biden at the debate, and \u201cI\u2019m worried that it knocked you off your game<\/a>. How do I know that you\u2019re able to forcefully lead this country moving forward when being faced with unforeseen challenges and other bullies?\u201d<\/p>\n

Surprise! On her LinkedIn page, the questioner posted video under the hashtag \u201c#JoeBiden2020.\u201d<\/p>\n

Or try this Holt introduction: \u201cOur next question from Cassidy Brown in Orlando. Voted for the first time in 2016.\u201d Brown\u2019s question? \u201cMy youngest sister is in high school right now. And I knew whenever I was graduating high school and entering college that I wanted to obtain my degree and start a career before starting a family. Having access to birth control and safe reproductive health care was imperative in making that true for me. So considering the new Supreme Court nomination of Amy Coney Barrett, what are your particular plans to protect women\u2019s reproductive rights in the US?\u201d<\/p>\n

That sounds like a Planned Parenthood questionnaire, not an \u201cundecided voter.\u201d Sure enough, on her publicly available Facebook<\/a> page, Brown posted a meme in 2019 from \u201cVOTE PROCHOICE\u201d and a protest sign that reads \u201cYou\u2019re pro-life until the baby is \u2014 poor, transgender, black, gay, Mexican, disabled, sick, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is ironic, since the \u201cright to choose\u201d is often reserved for eliminating disabled or sick babies. (Consult Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam\u2019s remarks on after-birth procedures.)<\/p>\n

Or try Michelle Cruz Marrero, presented by Holt as someone who \u201cused to be a registered Republican but voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n

She professed: \u201cAs a mother of a police officer and the wife of a retired police officer, served 28 years, the term \u2018defunding the police\u2019 is of concern and troubling. .\u2009.\u2009. With that being said, I would like to know what you and your administration\u2019s policies in reforming the police, how those will come about, how \u2014 how they will be best handled to ensure police officer safety and the public citizens\u2019 safety as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

It turns out that Michelle Cruz Marrero can be easily found on Facebook with \u201cCubanos con Biden.\u201d She is no undecided voter. After the event, she wrote: \u201cBiden was eloquent and I hope that this clarified all questions regarding the false narrative of \u2018defunding the police\u2019 and that he seeks to reform the police and make it a better place for all of us to live in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The valentine continued: \u201cHe is intelligent. He is elegant. He is poised and he has a plan. He does not dismiss COVID and the future of our country rests on this election and a vote for Trump is a vote for insanity. This country needs Biden. We need Biden.\u2009.\u2009. . He will save America and he will restore the country we had before this monster took over.\u201d<\/p>\n

The proper description for this NBC \u201cNews<\/a>\u201d event is an \u201cinfomercial.\u201d Holt was selling Joe Biden like Larry King hawks Omega XL diet supplements and Prostagenix prostate pills. Can we expect more of the same at the October 15 \u201ctown hall\u201d debate, with a much larger audience?<\/p>\n
