\nThere\u2019s going to be a brand new housewife shaking things up on The Real Housewives of New York City<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Following a summer full of drama and firings within Bravo<\/strong>\u2018s hit reality franchise, the network has announced that attorney and TV host Eboni K. Williams<\/strong> has joined the Big App<\/a>le spinoff as the first Black cast member in the show\u2019s history. It\u2019s shocking to hear when you read it out loud to yourself, but yes \u2014 this version of the series<\/a> is finally getting with the times and diversifying!<\/p>\n

Williams expressed gratitude for the history-making gig in a statement shared on Thursday:<\/p>\n

\u201cNYC is filled with successful and dynamic Black women. I\u2019m excited to join this legendary franchise as the first Black housewife. Can\u2019t wait to share a slice of life in this city that hasn\u2019t been seen before. Anyone who\u2019s aware of my work knows I don\u2019t hold back. I\u2019m going to keep it just as real here as I do everywhere else.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Yas! We can\u2019t wait to see it!<\/p>\n

Per TMZ<\/em>, production on season 13 has already begun in NYC and newcomer Eboni joins returning co-stars Luann de Lesseps<\/strong>, Ramona Singer<\/strong>, Leah McSweeney<\/strong>, and Sonja Morgan<\/strong>. The outlet noted how RHONY<\/em> producers were looking to diversify following\u00a0Tinsley Mortimer<\/strong>\u00a0and Dorinda Medley<\/strong>\u2018s departures\u00a0earlier this summer, and it seems like they found the perfect person for the job!<\/p>\n

For those unfamiliar with Williams, the 37-year-old Charlotte native currently co-hosts State of the Culture<\/em> on Diddy<\/strong>\u2018s Revolt TV<\/strong>. She previously\u00a0co-hosted on FOX News<\/a> Specialists<\/em> before exiting in 2018 and for a short time, she also ran a talk show on WABC Radio<\/em> which aired in the tristate area. Williams boasts a law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law<\/strong> and years of experience working at Louisiana\u2019s Secretary of State and the Attorney General<\/a>\u2019s office. She is also a published author after releasing her book Pretty Powerful: Appearance, Substance & Success<\/em> back in 2017.<\/p>\n

That is quite an impressive background, but her legal experience intrigues us most! Considering the amount of arguing that happens on this show, it might be safe to assume she\u2019ll be able to hold her own in that department. LOLz!
