However, there\u2019s a work-around for this!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Create_a_Transparent_Widget_Background_with_Scriptable\"><\/span>How to Create a Transparent Widget Background with Scriptable<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To do this, we\u2019ll be using the free <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/app\/scriptable\/id1405459188?at=1010l392g&amp;ct=htg694004\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Scriptable<\/a>&nbsp;to cut out part of the background via a ready-made script. You won\u2019t have to write a line of code! All you do is copy, paste, and then hit the run button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The way the app does this is quite clever. First, you take a screenshot of an empty Home screen page. When you decide where you want to put the widget, Scriptable then cuts the right part of the wallpaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RELATED:<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong><em>How to Add Sticky Notes to Your iPhone Home Screen<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have a screenshot of your iPhone\u2019s background, you\u2019ll just be using it as a widget background. This is supported in many third-party apps, like Widgetsmith,&nbsp;Sticky Widgets, and even Scriptable (more on that later).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/iPhone-Home-Screen-with-Empty-and-Transparent-Widgets.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"One iPhone with a blank space on its Home screen and one without.\" class=\"wp-image-694322\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, first things first: take a screenshot of an empty Home screen on your iPhone. To do so, tap and hold an empty part of the iPhone Home screen to enter Jiggle mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, swipe to the last page of the Home screen (or one that doesn\u2019t have any app icons or widgets). Press the Side and Volume Up buttons simultaneously. In this example, we\u2019ll be using&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/app\/widgetsmith\/id1523682319?at=1010l392g&amp;ct=htg694004\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Widgetsmith<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RELATED:<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong><em>How to Create Custom Widgets on iPhone<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;Widgetsmith, you can create an empty widget (using the image you created above) or use an image as a background for a date and time widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open Widgetsmith and go to the \u201cWidgets\u201d section.
