It turns out that the new Higurashi anime\u2019s title, <\/span>Higurashi: When They Cry \u2013 NEW<\/span><\/i>, isn\u2019t its real title.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Funimation revealed in a <\/span>blog post<\/span><\/a> that the anime is actually called <\/span>Higurashi: When They Cry \u2013 GOU<\/span><\/i>, with the initial title deception being an intentional move. The meaning behind the title remains a mystery, but Funimation offered a hint by writing, \u201cGou, or \u696d, is a Japanese kanji that has multiple meanings and usages, but can be used to mean karma, or the fate resulting from one\u2019s actions in past lives, based on Buddhist concepts.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
