That\u2019s the premise of<strong>\u00a0<em>Marvel\u2019s M.O.D.O.K.<\/em><\/strong>, an adult stop-motion animated comedy on Hulu that stars<strong> Patton Oswalt<\/strong> as the titular villainous floating head as he deals with his demanding family and corporate red tape. That kind of acronym creates far too much of a comedic opportunity to pass up for Oswalt and\u00a0co-creator and executive producer\u00a0Jordan Blum, who loved the idea of a villain whose character design by Jack Kirby \u201cis so absurd and monstrous that we thought, where does this guy go at night?\u201d Blum told EW.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->That created the idea for\u00a0<em>M.O.D.O.K.,<\/em> which explores the supervillain\u2019s home life, including his quirky family played by\u00a0Aimee Garcia\u00a0(<em>Lucifer<\/em>) as his wife Jodie,\u00a0Ben Schwartz\u00a0(<em>Parks and Recreation<\/em>) as his oddball son Lou, and\u00a0Melissa Fumero\u00a0(<em>Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em>) as his daughter Melissa, the only one who shares her father\u2019s floating resemblance. His main foe won\u2019t be the Avengers, but will be\u00a0Austin Van Der Sleet (<em>SNL<\/em>\u2018s\u00a0Beck Bennett), GRUMBL\u2019s \u201cpost-merger-integration-consultant\u201d who spouts way more corporate jargon and presents\u00a0M.O.D.O.K. with more corporate red tape than the megalomaniacal villain would like to deal with.\u00a0\u201cIf you\u2019re making a show about super villains, you have figure out something more evil [for them to face], so corporations,\u201d jokes Blum. The series also stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sam Richardson, and Jon Daly.<\/p>\n<p>A stop-motion animated series that marks\u00a0House of Ideas\u2019 first foray into adult animated comedy,\u00a0<em>M.O.D.O.K.\u00a0<\/em>seems like a refreshingly weird comedy that will liven up the mass-produced Marvel content. Especially with its stop-motion animation created by\u00a0Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, which had previously produced\u00a0<em>Robot Chicken<\/em>.
