\n At Wednesday\u2019s debate with Mike Pence, Kamala Harris echoed Joe Biden\u2019s recent claim that he doesn\u2019t back the Green New Deal or a ban on fracking. Voters are right to doubt them; both have long supported each of those extremist plans.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s website still labels the radical GND (unveiled by Harris herself last year, as an original co-sponsor with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) \u201ca crucial framework\u201d for addressing climate change. The site demands \u201cgreater ambition on an epic scale\u201d to meet the challenges. Yes, \u201cepic.\u201d<\/p>\n

And Biden has repeatedly vowed to \u201cget rid of fossil fuels.\u201d \u201cWould there be any place for fossil fuels, including coal and fracking, in a Biden administration?\u201d he was asked last year. \u201cNo,\u201d he replied. He\u2019d \u201cmake sure it\u2019s eliminated.\u201d He\u2019s even called for industry execs to be put \u201cin jail.\u201d<\/p>\n

But now the Democrats fear scaring off moderates in swing states like Pennsylvania where a lot of jobs depend on fracking and the fossil-fuels industry. So Harris-Biden now pretend they oppose Harris-AOC\u2019s multitrillion-dollar, economy-wrecking scheme and a fracking ban.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t support the Green New Deal,\u201d Biden claimed in his debate with President Trump. His plan, Biden insisted, is \u201cdifferent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Technically, he\u2019s right: It\u2019s not called the GND, and it has other small changes. But even left-leaning USA Today says his plan and the GND aren\u2019t really \u201ctoo different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Likewise with fracking. In a March debate, when Bernie Sanders said, \u201cI\u2019m talking about stopping fracking as soon as we possibly can,\u201d Biden chimed in: \u201cSo am I,\u201d adding: \u201cNo more, no new fracking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harris was also emphatic: \u201cThere\u2019s no question I\u2019m in favor of banning fracking,\u201d she said during the primaries. Yet Wednesday she promised, \u201cJoe Biden will not ban fracking\u201d \u2014 and then changed the subject.<\/p>\n

That drew a crisp barb from her pal AOC: \u201cFracking is bad, actually,\u201d the left-winger scolded on Twitter<\/a>. Chill, Congresswoman. Harris and Biden are in your corner, even though they won\u2019t admit it.<\/p>\n
