They\u2019ve been \u201cprotesting in the streets and courts against new harsh lockdown restrictions\u201d in ZIP codes \u201cincluding several Haredi neighborhoods,\u201d in which Gov. Cuomo \u201csingled out religious institutions\u201d for \u201cspecial limits.\u201d Mayor de Blasio in April \u201craged about a large outdoor funeral for an Orthodox rabbi, threatening \u2018the Jewish community,\u2019 but in June, he attended an even larger Black Lives Matter protest.\u201d No wonder \u201csome residents suspect new rules are based more on politics than <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>.\u201d Asked \u201cabout the double standard,\u201d Hizzoner \u201ccalled protests and religious services \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>les and oranges.\u2019\u200a\u201d \u201cThat\u2019s how he and Mr. Cuomo could allow and praise huge protests against the police this summer, but bar 11 Jews from praying together today.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Media_critic_More_%E2%80%98Islamophobia_Smears\"><\/span>Media critic: More\u00a0\u2018Islamophobia\u2019 Smears<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Tera Dahl is the latest target in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>\u2019s \u201crampage about Trump\u2019s politically incorrect appointments\u201d to the United States Agency for International Development, with outlets like Politico and The New York Times unjustly accusing her of anti-Muslim sentiments, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/issuesinsights.com\/2020\/10\/08\/who-is-tera-dahl-and-why-are-journalists-out-to-get-her\/?fbclid=IwAR0w0qkDz4dTS1WvId5XlHYwQMG2_jjOyh0qcEAlbGjlw0h4QGjnNVVzUEc\">sighs K. E. Grubbs Jr. at Issues &amp; Insights<\/a>. Dahl, a former congressional and White House aide, supported Trump\u2019s successful Abraham Accords and tends to \u201cdefy bureaucratic inertia, performing global good for ever-more grateful countries\u201d throughout her career. But she recognizes that \u201creligion, any religion, can attract violence-prone extremists and that some overly sensitive practitioners of the religion in question prefer that it not be mentioned.\u201d Those who hold this\u00a0belief against her \u201cclearly do not know how to process such realism, and their journalism shows it.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Election_watch_Rules_Changes_Tank_Confidence\"><\/span>Election watch: Rules Changes Tank Confidence<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>According to a new Gallop poll, only 59 percent of people trust that presidential votes \u201cwill be cast and counted accurately, matching an all-time low,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/changing-election-rules-damage-already-low-voter-confidence\">laments Jeremy Beaman for the Washington Examiner<\/a>. The survey attributes this in part to \u201cthe president\u2019s assailing of mail-in voting,\u201d but an even more obvious factor is that \u201cless than a month away from Election Day, the rules are still changing.\u201d At least four states have extended mail-in deadlines past Nov. 3. North Carolina crafted new rules only for a judge to stop their implementation, and South Carolina just changed signature requirements. \u201cAll these extra-legislative changes sow doubt and confusion.\u201d No wonder voters are losing faith.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Foreign_desk_No_Brexit-Russian_Collusion\"><\/span>Foreign desk: No Brexit-Russian Collusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After a three-year investigation, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/spectator.us\/collapse-cambridge-analytica-brexit-conspiracy-theory\/\">reports Brendan O\u2019Neill at\u00a0Spectator USA<\/a>, Britain\u2019s information commissioner found no truth to \u201cthe chattering-class belief that Cambridge Analytica,\u201d\u00a0led by CEO Alexander Nix,\u00a0\u201cstealthily and probably illegally harvested people\u2019s online data in order to manipulate our minds and make us vote Leave\u201d in the Brexit referendum. And the office \u201cfound no evidence to back up one of the key stories about CA \u2014 that it colluded with Russia to shift Brits towards Leave.\u201d That \u201ctall tale\u201d became \u201cthe go-to explanation for why Remain lost the referendum.\u201d It couldn\u2019t be \u201cthat millions of rational Brits, more than capable of thinking for ourselves, decided that it was time to leave the EU.\u201d How \u201cdeeply patronizing\u201d that was, \u201cdepicting the electorate as putty-minded fools and calling into question the legitimacy of the largest act of free and fair democracy in the history of this country.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Religion_desk_A_Chinese_Warning_to_the_Vatican\"><\/span>Religion desk: A Chinese Warning to the Vatican<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Through\u00a0two millennia, the Catholic Church has \u201cfaced not merely \u00adnational regimes with their parochial ambitions, but systematic ideologies that were, in effect, rival political religions demanding the submission of a citizen\u2019s whole being, body and soul,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.firstthings.com\/web-exclusives\/2020\/10\/if-you-sup-with-the-devil\">observes Francis X. Mayer at First Things<\/a>.
