\n When Craig Carton is released from prison, a highly coveted job could be waiting for him.<\/p>\n

Longtime ally Chris Oliviero, who was hired on May 6 to run WFAN as Entercom New York\u2019s senior vice president and market manager, isn\u2019t ruling out eventually bringing back the disgraced former radio show host, who is serving a 3 \u00b9\/\u2082-year sentence after being convicted of running a Ponzi scheme to pay off gambling debts. Upon Oliviero\u2019s hiring, The Post reported that Carton, 51, could be given another chance at the station.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand why people would ask that, especially based on our long history,\u201d Oliviero told News<\/a>day on Monday. \u201cBut the answer is: Who knows? There are so many variables.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat said, if a time in the future came where Craig had gotten his life back on track, fulfilled all that was asked of him and was in a position to resume his career, of course we\u2019d talk and discuss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oliviero, who was a producer for Carton, with the former helping the latter team with Boomer Esiason in 2007. Carton and Esiason\u2019s decade-long run ended after Carton\u2019s arrest in September 2017. He was convicted in November 2018 and began serving his sentence in a minimum security prison on June 17, 2019.<\/p>\n

Oliviero, who was at Carton\u2019s sentencing, believes the 51-year-old would attract multiple bidders in the field despite his legal trouble.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think every other radio group would have the same conversation,\u201d Oliviero said. \u201cHis talent is well-documented. But he is absolutely not in that position yet, nor do I know when that will be.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do think New York believes in second chances in life, so I do think that when that day comes, he will have conversations with people. But I don\u2019t know when that is.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
