Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le for access to iPhones used by the San Bernandino and Penscaola shooters. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a> William Barr bashed Apple for not helping law enforcement crack the Pensacola shooter\u2019s iPhone. <\/p>\n<p>In response, Apple said Wray and Barr\u2019s remarks were \u201can excuse to weaken encryption.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the Justice Department <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/international-statement-end-end-encryption-and-public-safety#_ftnref1\">posted<\/a> an \u201cinternational statement\u201d signed by officials from the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia, India, Japan, New Zealand, and Canada that says they purportedly support encryption, but \u201cparticular implantations of encryption\u201d poses \u201csignificant challenges to public safety.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The statement from the countries asks the tech industry to address \u201cserious concerns\u201d they have, and work to help law enforcement have access to encrypted data. <\/p>\n<p>It further cement\u2019s the Justice Department\u2019s stance that encrypted data should be made easier for it to access. It asks for the tech industry to help with investigations, let them access encrypted data in \u201creadable and useable\u201d formats, and work with governments to \u201cfacilitate legal access in a way that is substantive and genuinely influences design decisions.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile this statement focuses on the challenges posed by end-to-end encryption, that commitment applies across the range of encrypted services available, including device encryption, custom encrypted applications and encryption across integrated platforms,\u201d the statement reads, adding: \u201cWe challenge the assertion that public safety cannot be protected without compromising privacy or cybersecurity.
