“#Tory Lanez Handed Protective Order, Cannot Contact Megan Thee Stallion<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Today (October 13), Tory Lanez was scheduled to be arraigned in Los Angeles, where he is facing multiple felony charges in connection with a July 12 arrest. The arraignment has been postponed, Variety<\/em><\/a> and TMZ<\/a> report. The next hearing will take place on November 18, the Daily News<\/em><\/a> reports can Pitchfork can confirm.<\/p>\n

Tory Lanez reportedly attended today\u2019s hearing via telephone. At the hearing, the judge issued a protective order, ruling that Tory Lanez cannot contact or come within 100 yards of Megan Thee Stallion. \u201cYou have been served orally and the court is ordering your attorney to provide you with that protective order,\u201d Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Miguel Espinoza said, according to the Daily News<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Tory Lanez was arrested in July and booked for having a concealed firearm in a vehicle. According to TMZ<\/a>\u2019s initial report, Megan Thee Stallion was present at the scene of the arrest. Days after Tory Lanez\u2019s arrest, Meg said that she had suffered gunshot wounds \u201cas a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me.\u201d One month later, she named Tory Lanez as the assailant.<\/p>\n

On October 8, Tory Lanez was charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. In a press release<\/a> announcing the charges against Tory Lanez, the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office noted that the rapp<\/a>er \u201calso faces a gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tory Lanez has denied<\/a> allegations of wrongdoing. He also addrssed the situation on his album DAYSTAR<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In an op-ed published in The New York Times<\/em> today, Megan Thee Stallion wrote, \u201cI was recently the victim of an act of violence by a man. After a party, I was shot twice as I walked away from him.\u201d Tory Lanez is not named in the article.<\/p>\n
