(She\u2019s different now! She\u2019s been to therapy!)<\/p>\n<p>Living in a \u201cCOVID-free\u201d La Quinta resort in La Quinta, California, the oldest Bachelorette in televised history, 39, spent her first episode smiling as though she lived in a pre-Corona utopia, despite the fact that she filmed the rest of the show in July, while cases around the country surged. She <em>must<\/em> hug all of those men though, this is serious business.<\/p>\n<p>The most shocking part of the night was when Chris Harrison said it would be \u201ca dramatic season\u201d but also not \u201cthe most dramatic season ever.\u201d I\u2019m deeply suspicious. What does he know that we don\u2019t?<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how Clare\u2019s journey began.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_intros\"><\/span>The intros<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After months of being stuck indoors with family members and roommates, America got to see 31 hot guys complain about being alone in a luxurious hotel room for two weeks. What resiliency! At least we know they\u2019re doing all-the-way-up-the-brain Coronavirus tests. I definitely feel like I just met my husband, I\u2019m shaking,\u201d she said to herself after they shared a hug. \u201cEvery other guy I felt confident with, but with Dale\u2026 I felt everything that I haven\u2019t felt ever.\u201d Sure.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, the producers clearly forced these men into the following introductory shticks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jason<\/strong>, a former pro football lineman, wore <em>a fake pregnant belly<\/em> to \u201cprove that he\u2019s willing to hold the weight of the relationship and the labor of love.\u201d (Yes, it was a reference to one of her past seasons. No, I don\u2019t care.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tyler<\/strong>, a lawyer, rolled out in a station wagon \u201cClark Griswald-style\u201d packed with \u201chis entire life\u201d to date Clare.<\/li>\n<li>Harvard alumnus <strong>Bennett<\/strong> \u201cdrove\u201d a Rolls Royce all the way from New York City.<\/li>\n<li>Anesthesiologist <strong>Joe<\/strong> wore a stethoscope to heal her love life.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eazy<\/strong>, another former pro athlete, jumped out of a sign that said \u201cyour future husband.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jay<\/strong> wore a straitjacket because he \u201cwent a little crazy\u201d while waiting to meet Clare.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chasen<\/strong> donned a full suit of armor and had no pun to explain why. Please give us more dog content, ABC.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Best_drama\"><\/span>Best drama<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Oscar goes to Tyler C., who caused the first \u201chere for the right reasons\u201d fight of the season. \u201cComing into this, I was in a weird position to learn some stuff about Yosef,\u201d he told some other suitors. \u201cA lot of being reckless on Instagram and flirting with girls where I\u2019m from who know me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Playing the \u201clooking out for Clare\u201d card, Tyler confronted Yosef about the allegations, who then tattled to Clare. She sat them both down for a scolding and quickly dismissed herself to chat with other men.<\/p>\n<p>Yosef reportedly stirs the pot in the coming episodes, so stay tuned.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_first_kiss\"><\/span>The first kiss<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Clare smooched Blake Moynes, who she claimed was the \u201conly man who reached out to her\u201d during a pre-production period, despite it being against the rules. (This contradicts reports that she had been in contact with Dale before filming, which is why she fell for him so fast.)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_first_impression_rose\"><\/span>The first impression rose<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>No surprise, she pinned the corsage on Dale. The two connected further over their shared \u201cfeelings\u201d and \u201cenergy.\u201d He also nabbed the second kiss of the night. Talk about a #vibecheck.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_rose_ceremony\"><\/span>The rose ceremony<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The cast was whittled down as Clare sent several men home \u2014 who quarantined for weeks to meet her \u2014 including Tyler C., Mike, Joe, Chris and Page.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Prediction\"><\/span>Prediction<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Ever the fan of edging, the promos are getting closer and closer to revealing that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2020\/08\/04\/tayshia-adams-meet-the-bachelorette-replacing-clare-crawley\/\">Clare is replaced by Tayshia<\/a>. I give her two more episodes.<\/p>\n<p>Next week will be the dodgeball date, as it\u2019s literally the only date that\u2019s been shown so far.
