“#Kristen Bell Opens Up About Dax Shepard\u2019s Relapse: \u2018I Will Continue To Stand By Him\u2019

\nJust as Dax Shepard<\/strong> predicted, Kristen Bell<\/strong> is having to face questions about his relapse.<\/p>\n

The Frozen<\/em> star spoke openly for the first time about her husband\u2019s use of opioids, which he had been secretly abusing under the guise of sobriety. This comes after the Parenthood<\/em> alum revealed his secret during an episode of his Armchair Expert<\/em> podcast, where he explained being fearful to come clean so his wife would not be questioned during future interviews about his addiction.<\/p>\n

During a Wednesday app<\/a>earance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/em>, the momma of two discussed Dax\u2019s regression, but in totally Kristen fashion! While the host was ready to ask away, Bell got in a quick laugh before getting into how Shepard is doing now:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoopsies\u2026 He is actually doing really great. I mean look, Everybody is up against their own demons. Sometimes it\u2019s anxiety and depression. Sometimes it\u2019s substance abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ultimately, she\u2019s just proud he was able to be honest about it with her before it was too late:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thing I love most about Dax is that he was able to tell me and tell us and say, \u2018We need a different plan.\u2019 We have a plan: if he has to take medication for any reason, I have to administer it. But he was like, \u2018So, we need a stronger plan. I was faltering. I have to do some sort of emotional work to figure out why I wanted to use again.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Among the many things she loves about her husband is that he\u2019s \u201caddicted to growth,\u201d the Good Place<\/em> star explained to Ellen DeGeneres<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s addicted to evolving. He was like, \u2018I don\u2019t want to risk this family and I did, so let\u2019s put new things in place to make sure it doesn\u2019t happen again.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In addition to figuring out a new \u201cplan\u201d that works for them both, the couple is currently \u201cgoing back to therapy.\u201d And if there was ever any question about whether Bell was going anywhere, think again:<\/p>\n

\u201cI love that he\u2019s addicted to growth, and I will continue to stand by him because he\u2019s very, very worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
