\n A Syracuse University freshman died after being struck by a campus trolley on Tuesday, reports said.<\/p>\n

Trevor Pierce, 19, collided with the trolley about 5:25 p.m. at the intersection of Waverly and Comstock Avenues, Syracuse.com reported<\/a>, citing police and university officials.<\/p>\n

A skateboard was marked as evidence at the crime scene. It was not immedia<\/a>tely clear if Pierce was riding it at the time of the collision.<\/p>\n

Pierce, a political philosophy major from New Hampshire, was taken to Upstate University Hospital, but could not be saved, the report said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an unthinkable loss for Trevor\u2019s family, friends and loved ones and the entire Syracuse University community,\u201d Marianne Thomson, the dean of students, said in an email to students, according to the campus newspaper<\/a>, The Daily Orange.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrevor will be greatly missed by all who knew him,\u201d Thomson said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
