In the wake of the direct-to-streaming move, Disney has released a new\u00a0<em>Soul<\/em> trailer that reveals the Disney+ premiere date and new additions to the voice cast.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Soul_Trailer\"><\/span>Soul Trailer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Disney and Pixar\u2019s Soul | Official Trailer 2 | Disney+\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Gs--6c7Hn_A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->Do you like jazz? Jamie Foxx\u2019s Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher waiting for his big break, certainly does \u2014 hearing the music in everything, from the sounds of the bustling crowds of New York City, to the cats meowing on the street. But just as Joe is about to see his music career take off, he falls into an open sewer great and finds himself in \u201cThe Great Before,\u201d where young souls are given their personalities before heading to Earth. There he befriends new soul 22 (Tina Fey) and they attempt to return him to Earth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s sure if he can share his life story with her\u2014his passion for jazz\u2014she\u2019ll be inspired and they\u2019ll both get to go to Earth,\u201d said producer Dana Murray in a press release. \u201cThey do make it back to Earth, but that\u2019s really the beginning of their adventure. It\u2019s a funny and touching story of friendship and self-discovery, and we can\u2019t wait to show it to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Directed by\u00a0<strong>Pete Docter<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Kemp Powers<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>Soul<\/em> premiered at the BFI London Film Festival to rave reviews calling it one of Pixar\u2019s best. It\u2019s a good way to drum up anticipation for a release that sadly has to skip theaters due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. And Disney has not given up on the marketing for this film, revealing additional actors that round out the cast led by\u00a0Foxx, Fey, Phylicia Rashad, Ahmir Questlove \u00a0Thompson, Angela Bassett and Daveed Diggs.<\/p>\n<p>Additional voice cast members include\u00a0<strong>Graham Norton<\/strong> (<em>The Graham Norton Show<\/em>), who revealed last weekend that he lends his voice to spiritual sign twirler Moonwind. Joining him are <strong>Rachel House<\/strong> (<em>Hunt for the Wilderpeople<\/em>, <em>Thor: Ragnaraok<\/em>) as the count-obsessed Terry, <strong>Alice Braga<\/strong> (<em>Elysium<\/em>), <strong>Richard Ayoade<\/strong> (<em>The Mandalorian<\/em>), <strong>Wes Studi<\/strong> (<em>Woke<\/em>,\u00a0 <em>The Last of the Mohicans<\/em>),<strong> Fortune Feimster<\/strong> (<em>Bless the Harts<\/em>) and <strong>Zenobia Shroff<\/strong> (<em>The Affair<\/em>) as the voices of the Counselors.
