That same year, Oculus also added <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/uploadvr.com\/oculus-quest-finger-hand-tracking\/\">hand-tracking support<\/a> as an early, experimental feature. Developers found much to love from the system. Using your hands in a virtual reality <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> is, after all, the most natural control mechanism possible. And now, one of the most popular VR porn games in development has VR hand-tracking support: <em>Captain Hardcore<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>On Oct. 3, <em>Captain Hardcore\u2019s <\/em>developer AntiZero published a new <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/big-quest-update-42327091\">Patreon-exclusive build<\/a> of the game introducing hand-tracking on Oculus Quest. Players can now put down their controllers and use their hands to touch and move models, pick up sex toys, spank characters, and insert dildos into whatever hole they choose. Hand-tracking is advanced enough to not just smoothly track characters\u2019 fingers but let players masturbate the game\u2019s characters or even stick fingers into their mouths.<\/p>\n<p>While the Oculus Quest\u2019s VR porn game library has grown considerably over the past year, <em>Captain Hardcore<\/em> was one of the first VR titles to hit the device; its first Quest build launched in late February. The game runs off the Unreal Engine, which is how developer AntiZero reconfigured the game for the Oculus Quest and added hand-tracking support, he told the Daily Dot.<\/p>\n<p>While official Unreal Engine hand-tracking support makes its implementation far easier than coding the feature from scratch, there are still issues that designers have to work with. AntiZero told the Daily Dot that since <em>Captain Hardcore<\/em> is a physics-intensive VR sex simulator, he had to fine-tune the game for realistic hand-tracking physics and collisions. Then there are hand-tracking user experience concerns; without the Oculus Touch\u2019s convenient buttons and thumbsticks, creating a seamless user experience isn\u2019t easy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow does the player move without thumbsticks? How do they select objects or click on menus? You can use natural gestures like pinching, pointing and grabbing\u2014but these are easy to trigger unintentionally and it\u2019s frustrating when you try to grab hold of something and end up triggering something else!\u201d AntiZero said. \u201cThere\u2019s also less tactile feedback for the player, they can no longer feel the click of a button or the vibration of a controller, so it\u2019s not easy to make it work in a way that feels natural.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This reporter <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manyvids.com\/Video\/2289478\/vr-captain-hardcore-hand-tracking\/\">recorded a video<\/a> of the new Quest build, provided to the Daily Dot by AntiZero. Hand-tracking support still has room for improvement but was overall impressive to use. Models responded to gentle touches and strokes, and it was relatively easy to grab characters\u2019 breasts or stroke their bodies. More complicated movements, like inserting dildos or grabbing paddles, were less user friendly. But in terms of supporting \u201cdirect\u201d contact between characters and players, <em>Captain Hardcore\u2019s <\/em>hand-tracking capabilities are already pretty revolutionary. The Quest has a small tracking area and can\u2019t handle fast hand movement. The Quest also can\u2019t track hands obscured by each other; object permanence basically doesn\u2019t exist in the current state. Without enough hand-tracking data to \u201cguess\u201d the player\u2019s pose, AntiZero said, the Oculus Quest \u201chides the hands completely, or it might miss gestures like pinching.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a limitation of the hardware and probably won\u2019t improve until Oculus find a more reliable way to do hand-tracking,\u201d he told the Daily Dot.<\/p>\n<p>For now, hand-tracking remains solely on <em>Captain Hardcore\u2019s <\/em>Oculus Quest build. But don\u2019t discount hand-tracking\u2019s possible implementation on PC. <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>s like <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/uploadvr.com\/virtual-desktop-oculus-quest\/\">Virtual Desktop<\/a> offer hand-tracking support for PC VR gameplay already by treating players\u2019 hands like controllers. Meanwhile, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.northwestern.edu\/stories\/2019\/11\/epidermal-vr-gives-technology-a-human-touch\/\">Northwestern University researchers<\/a> have created \u201cepidermal VR,\u201d a wireless system designed to simulate digital touch via \u201ca fast, programmable array of miniature vibrating actuators.\u201d This would let friends and family \u201creach out and virtually touch each other\u201d during video calls, the university claims, with practically no time delay.<\/p>\n<p>For the time being, AntiZero thinks \u201cwe\u2019re quite far\u201d from touching and feeling VR objects in consumer-based VR devices. He remains focused on the present; <em>Captain Hardcore<\/em>, for example, works well on Facebook\u2019s newly released Oculus Quest 2.<\/p>\n<p>But while the future may be distant, AntiZero is still interested in pushing the envelope with his adult VR game and seeing where the industry goes next.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFull-body tracking and multiplayer has a lot of potential,\u201d AntiZero said. \u201cImagine <em>Captain Hardcore<\/em> with the social features of something like VRChat.
