“#Is this huge mechanical spider upstate NY’s wildest Halloween display?<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n Trick-or-treating may be canceled for many this year, but wild Halloween home decorations are definitely happ<\/a>ening.<\/p>\n

An East Aurora, NY native named Mitch was walking around his hometown this month when he spotted a particularly impressive seasonal display: an enormous mechanical spider hanging from an even bigger web in front of a residential house. He took a video of the spooky site which has since gone viral online, racking up millions of views.<\/p>\n

In the clip, the giant robotic arachnid slowly makes its way down its web from the third story of the home all the way to the pavement. By night, the home also features a creepy light display.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis spider\u2019s legs all move independently, giving it an all-too-real appearance of motion,\u201d Mitch told Caters News<\/a>. \u201cThe spider is suspended from a metal crane mounted on the roof of the front porch.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Mitch was impressed by the creators of the many-legged installation, it didn\u2019t surprise him.<\/p>\n

\u201cEast Aurora is home to the toy company Fisher-Price,\u201d he said, implying that the area is crawling with creative types. Despite all the local talent, in Mitch\u2019s opinion, this home still beat out the rest this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a town full of toy designers, it is probably the most over-the-top house that I know of, but there are others that come close!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

While the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has proved an insurmountable problem for many Halloween traditions, some individuals have still found a way to celebrate.<\/p>\n

In Long Island, Johnnie\u2019s Car Wash has transformed itself into a \u201cTunnel of Terror.\u201d For $25 per vehicle, the Suffolk County business offers a combination of car-cleaning and haunted house experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs they enter, there will be people in costume. Body parts hanging, dummies set up along the entrance,\u201d owner Johnnie Miranti told The Post. \u201cMeanwhile, I got three people hiding in the tunnel waiting to jump out, wipe suds up and tap the car. That\u2019s when the screams start. There\u2019s no retreat either.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
