\n It\u2019s lonely at the top \u2014 and child stardom makes it even more vulnerable.<\/p>\n

So croons Justin Bieber, 26, in \u201cLonely,\u201d his new music video<\/a> collaboration with producer Benny Blanco, 32, released Friday at midnight. The clip has already racked up over 2.3 million views on YouTube<\/a> as of this morning.<\/p>\n

The melancholy track, featuring Bieber\u2019s vocals over minimal piano accompanime<\/a>nt, stars 14-year-old Jacob Tremblay as a young Bieber, struggling with simultaneous success and isolation.<\/p>\n

The clip starts with a shot of Tremblay alone and staring at his reflection in a huge dressing room,\u00a0 before being called to and slowly making his way to the stage. \u201cI\u2019m so lonely,\u201d Tremblay mouths, along with Bieber, as the camera pans out to reveal a single person sits watching. The clip ends with a shot of a stone-faced adult Bieber, watching on.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd everybody saw me sick, and it felt like no one gave a s\u2009-\u2009-\u2009t, they criticized the things I did, as an idiot kid,\u201d goes one particularly unguarded verse before launching into the pre-chorus. \u201cWhat if you had it all but nobody to call? Maybe then you\u2019d know me. \u2018Cause I\u2019ve heard everything, but no one\u2019s listening, and that\u2019s just f\u2009-\u2009-\u2009king lonely.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Twitter<\/a>, Bieber called Tremblay \u201cso talented,\u201d and said it was an emotional experience \u201cto see him play me from the outside looking in.\u201d Still, the Canadian superstar admits, it\u2019s difficult to rewatch the video. \u201cTo be honest the song is hard for me to listen to considering how tough it was to get through some of these chapters. I believe it is powerful to express vulnerability and that\u2019s why I believe this song is so powerful,\u201d Bieber tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The singer has kept busy this month, dropping a collaboration with Crocs<\/a> and hopping into bed with wife Hailey Baldwin for the cover of Vogue Italia<\/a>.<\/p>\n
