\n Google is making it easier to find the closest voting location near you.<\/p>\n

In a new blog post<\/a>, the company revealed it has introduced new features to Search and Maps in the US to help you locate the nearest location where you can cast your vote \u2014 either in person or via a mail-in ballot. Simply search for\u00a0\u201cearly voting locations\u201d or \u201cballot drop boxes near me,\u201d and Google will point you in the right direction.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to that, Google will also offer helpful tips and reminders like making sure your ballot is completed and sealed before submitting it.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what that\u2019ll look like:<\/p>\n

The Mountain View giant plans to expand this functionality to Google Assistant and Assistant-enabled smart devices, so you can get this information by simply dropping the magic phrase \u201cHey Google, where do I vote?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Google product manager\u00a0Yunhan Xu says t<\/span>he decision to highlight voting locations directly in Search in Maps comes after searches for \u201chow to vote\u201d<\/a>\u00a0in the US reached record-highs this year.<\/p>\n

Google adds voting location information will be sourced via the\u00a0<\/span>Voting Information Project<\/a>, a partnership between non-partisan non-profit\u00a0<\/span>Democracy Works<\/a>\u00a0and state election officials. The company also reassures it\u2019ll continually update the list as more locations become available across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
