There are certain smartphone functions that you want to be able to do quickly. Turning on the flashlight is one of them. We\u2019ll show you how to turn it on by simply tapping the back of your Android device.<\/p>\n

This is possible with an app called \u201cTap, Tap<\/a>.\u201d Once enabled, it can perform functions when you tap the back of your device. The app is not available to download from the Google Play Store, but it can be easily sideloaded on any Android 7.0+ device.<\/p>\n

Before we proceed, follow our guide to get Tap, Tap installed and ready to go.<\/p>\n

Now that you have Tap, Tap set up, we can configure the Flashlight gesture. Open the app and select either \u201cDouble Tap Actions\u201d or \u201cTrip<\/a>le Tap Actions.\u201d For this guide, we\u2019ll use Double Tap.<\/p>\n

Next, tap the \u201cAdd Action\u201d button at the bottom of the screen.<\/p>\n

From the \u201cUtilities\u201d category, select \u201cFlashlight.\u201d Alternatively, you can take a screenshot\u00a0by tapping on the back of your phone.<\/p>\n

The flashlight will now turn on when you tap the back of your Android device. Next, we can set up some \u201cRequirements.\u201d These requirements need to be met in order for the Flashlight to turn on. You don\u2019t have<\/em> to add requirements, but if you want to, tap \u201cAdd Requirement.\u201d<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re worried about the flashlight turning on in your pocket, you could select the \u201cDisplay On\u201d requirement. This will ensure the flashlight doesn\u2019t turn on when the display is off (though, you may find that handy, too).<\/p>\n

You\u2019re done! Now you always have quick access to your Android phone\u2019s flashlight when you\u2019re in a dark situation.<\/p>\n
