\n The feud between President Trump and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer heated up again Saturday night after attendees at a Trump rally in her home state chanted \u201cLock her up!\u201d and the president told the crowd, \u201clock \u2019em all up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt needs to stop,\u201d the governor \u2014 who was the target of an abduction plot foiled by the FBI last week \u2014 wrote on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is exactly the rhetoric that has put me, my family, and other government officials\u2019 lives in danger while we try to save the lives of our fellow Americans,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Whitmer\u2019s tweet linked to a clip of the president telling thousands of fans in Muskegon Saturday that they needed to \u201cget your governor to open up your state.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd get your schools open. Get your schools open. The schools have to be open, right?\u201d Trump said, as some in the crowd began chanting \u201clock her up!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLock \u2018em all up,\u201d the president responded as the chants continued.<\/p>\n

Whitmer\u2019s remarks on Saturday echoed those she made about the president last Thursday after authorities announced the arrests of 13 militia members who had allegedly planned to kidnap her as part of a scheme that also involved storming the state Capitol and sparking a second American civil war.<\/p>\n

The governor slammed then what she said was Trump\u2019s refusal to condemn white supremacy and extremism in the U.S.<\/p>\n

After news<\/a> of the kidnap plot broke, Trump likened Whitmer to \u201ca dictator,\u201d telling Fox Business News that \u201cpeople can\u2019t stand her\u201d because of her tough coronavirus lockdown restrictions.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur head of state has spent the past seven months denying science<\/a>, ignoring his own health experts, stoking distrust, fomenting anger and giving comfort to those who spread fear and hatred and division,\u201d she said then.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
