“#CNN\u2019s Jake Tapp<\/a>er spars with Lara Trump over Biden\u2019s \u2018cognitive decline\u2019<\/strong>”

\n Lara Trump sparred with CNN\u2019s Jake Tapper over Joe Biden\u2019s campaign performances on Sunday after the president\u2019s daughter-in-law suggested the former vice president is in \u201ccognitive decline.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tense exchange began when the CNN\u2019s \u201cState of the Union\u201d<\/a> host asked Trump about comments she made saying she feels \u201cbad\u201d for Biden when he comes on stage and can\u2019t \u201cget the words out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign who is married to son Eric Trump, said at the time she made those comments she didn\u2019t know that the Democratic presidential candidate was a stutterer.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst and foremost, I had no idea that Joe Biden ever suffered from a stutter,\u201d she said. \u201cI think what we see on stage with Joe Biden, Jake, is very clearly a cognitive decline. That\u2019s what I\u2019m referring to. It makes me uncomfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tapper accused her of \u201cmocking his stutter\u201d and suggested that she has \u201cno standing to diagnose somebody\u2019s cognitive decline.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would think that somebody in the family would be more sensitive to people who do not have medical licenses diagnosing politicians from afar. Plenty of people have diagnosed your father from afar, and I\u2019m sure it offends you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Lara Trump hit back that she was \u201cnot diagnosing him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I\u2019m saying, Jake, is that Joe Biden is struggling when he\u2019s on stage. And it\u2019s very concerning to a lot of people that this could be the leader of the free world,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

At that point, Tapper said he was \u201csure\u201d her comments came from a \u201cplace of concern,\u201d thanked her for being a guest and moved on to the next segment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
