In\u00a0<strong><em>Once Upon a Snowman<\/em><\/strong>, we finally get to see Olaf\u2019s unseen origins in a <strong><em>Frozen<\/em><\/strong> prequel short film coming to Disney+ this month. Watch the\u00a0<em>Once Upon a Snowman<\/em> trailer below.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Once_Upon_a_Snowman_Trailer\"><\/span>Once Upon a Snowman Trailer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Once Upon a Snowman | Official Trailer | Disney+\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JR7OrwlrsP0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->The film, which is set to debut on Disney+ later this month, \u201cfollows Olaf\u2019s first steps as he comes to life and searches for his identity in the snowy mountains outside Arendelle.\u201d And as we see from the trailer, those first steps are already a full-fledged skip, as Olaf cheerily encounters the shopkeeper from\u00a0<em>Frozen<\/em> to help solve his identity crisis by finding the perfect nose. He tries everything from a ping-pong paddle to a comb for his face, but just can\u2019t find the right fit\u2026or the right name.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by\u00a0Trent\u00a0Correy (animation supervisor on Olaf in\u00a0<em>Frozen 2<\/em>) and Dan Abraham (a veteran story artist who boarded Olaf\u2019s \u201cWhen I Am Older\u201d musical sequence in\u00a0<em>Frozen 2<\/em>),\u00a0<em>Once Upon a Snowman<\/em>\u00a0is produced by Nicole Hearon (associate producer on\u00a0<em>Frozen 2<\/em>) with Peter Del Vecho (producer on\u00a0<em>Frozen 2<\/em>). And of course,\u00a0<strong>Josh Gad<\/strong>\u00a0comes back to voice his breakout character, Olaf. It\u2019s the latest of the Olaf shorts to come out on Disney+ during the pandemic, the first few of which were animated remotely by the Disney animation team, and voiced by Gad, from home. But\u00a0<em>Once Upon a Snowman<\/em> was longer in the making, with Correy and Abraham conceiving of the idea all the way back during production on the first\u00a0<em>Frozen<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an idea that started to form when I was an animator on the first\u00a0<em>Frozen<\/em>,\u201d said Correy. \u201cDan Abraham and I are so grateful and excited to have had the opportunity to direct this short, working with our incredible colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here is the synopsis to\u00a0<em>Once Upon a Snowman<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The previously untold origins of Olaf, the innocent and insightful, summer-loving snowman who melted hearts in the Academy Award\u00ae-winning 2013 Disney animated feature, Frozen, and its acclaimed 2019 sequel, are revealed in the all-new Walt Disney Animation Studios animated short, Once Upon a Snowman.
