“#Mike McCarthy doesn’t seem pleased with anonymous Cowboys critics<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n This isn\u2019t what Mike McCarthy had in mind.<\/p>\n

Following the Cowboys\u2019 38-10 home drubbing by the Cardinals on Monday night and the anonymous critiques of the coaching staff that followed, McCarthy was asked about the locker-room leaks. And it\u2019s clear that\u2019s not how he wants things handled.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I mean, first off, I haven\u2019t heard any of those type of discussions,\u201d McCarthy said on a conference call with reporters<\/a>. \u201cI think like a lot of things when you hit a part of your season, or any challenge where there is negativity out there and where it comes from and who it comes from, that\u2019s something that I\u2019ve never chased. I think you do have to recognize it. I just really go back to my first meeting with the football team. I\u2019ve always stated that \u2026 it\u2019s important to handle things as men.<\/p>\n

One of the anonymous players, according to NFL Network<\/a>, accused the staff of being \u201ctotally unprepared. They don\u2019t teach. They don\u2019t have any sense of adjusting on the fly.\u201d Another said: \u201cThey just aren\u2019t good at their jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

While NFL Network\u2019s Jane Slater<\/a> reported that players initially \u201cbought into keeping things internal,\u201d that has clearly changed after the team\u2019s disapp<\/a>ointing 2-4 start.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, if you do have something to say publicly \u2026 I think it\u2019s important to say it to the individual, or particularly in a group dynamic setting, especially in the game<\/a> of football, especially for the Dallas Cowboys,\u201d McCarthy said. \u201cI mean, that\u2019s all part of the development of our program, of the system that we\u2019ve got going here. I think that\u2019s just part of our flight right now. We don\u2019t like the way we played [Monday] night. We had some areas that we struggled strong in. It\u2019s definitely not what we\u2019re looking for.\u201d<\/p>\n

While any future offensive woes will be understandable with Dak Prescott now done for the season, the Dallas defense has been horrific all season. The Cowboys have allowed 218 points through six games, the most since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, per ProFootballTalk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They somehow still sit atop the dumpster-fire NFC East, with a division matchup vs. Washington coming up this weekend.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
