{"id":94732,"date":"2020-10-22T01:47:59","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T22:47:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/bitcoin-blasts-through-13k-following-paypals-entrance-into-crypto\/"},"modified":"2020-10-22T01:47:59","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T22:47:59","slug":"bitcoin-blasts-through-13k-following-paypals-entrance-into-crypto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/bitcoin-blasts-through-13k-following-paypals-entrance-into-crypto\/","title":{"rendered":"# Bitcoin blasts through $13K following PayPal\u2019s entrance into crypto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong># Bitcoin blasts through $13K following PayPal\u2019s entrance into crypto  <\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div data-v-5a136f3a=\"\">Bitcoin (BTC) has rallied above $13,000 for the first time since July, and only the third time since the all-time high bull run of late-2017.<\/p>\n<p>The move follows the long sustained period of five-figure price action, with BTC having spent nearly the entirety of the past 12 weeks trading above $10,000.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2020-10\/5e963304-7d79-461a-9096-9a77a4f038e4.png\"\/><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">Weekly BTC\/USD chart: BitcoinWisdom<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The spike was triggered by <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> that the global payments giant PayPal is <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/technology-54630283\">launching<\/a> support for Bitcoin, in addition to Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).<\/p>\n<p>Quantum Economics founder Mati Greenspan said the rally was almost entirely driven by PayPal. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;There&#8217;s no doubt in my mind that this bit of news is almost solely responsible for today&#8217;s extended gains.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>BTC is up 10% over the past 24 hours, while ETH is up 8%,\u00a0 BCH is up 9%, and LTC is up more than 15% today.<\/p>\n<p>While Ethereum has rallied alongside Bitcoin, ETH has failed to maintain its strength relative to Bitcoin since rallying into the low-mid $400s amid the decentralized finance boom in August. Ether is currently testing resistance at $400.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the news from PayPal, Alex Mashinsky, CEO of crypto lending platform Celsius, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is definitely a bullish sign for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
