“#Marcus Stroman thinks he’s answer to Yankees’ rotation questions<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n After the Yankees\u2019 season ended, general<\/a> manager Brian Cashman said the team\u2019s rotation \u201cwas at risk\u201d in the playoffs \u201cand that needs to get improved upon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clearly, Marcus Stroman agrees, as the right-hander took to Twitter<\/a> on Wednesday to explain why he would fit into the Yankees\u2019 rotation.<\/p>\n

In response to a Twitter<\/a> post saying Stroman would be \u201cthe steal of the offseason,\u201d the pending free agent agreed and posited he\u2019d be at least their third-best starter in 2021.<\/p>\n

\u201cBesides [Gerrit] Cole, there\u2019s no current yankee pitcher who will be anywhere in my league over the next 5-7 years,\u2019\u2019 Stroman wrote. \u201cTheir pitching always folds in the end. That lineup and payroll should be winning World Series<\/a>\u2019 left and right \u2026 yet they\u2019re in a drought! Lol.\u201d<\/p>\n

When a fan reminded him of Luis Severino\u2019s past success, Stroman agreed<\/a>: \u201cForgot about [Severino]! When he\u2019s healthy, he\u2019s unreal. One of my favorites to watch. Cole and Severino. There\u2019s still [three] spots in the staff that need help. Am I wrong?\u201d<\/p>\n

He also said the fact James Paxton \u2014 another free agent \u2014 has never pitched more than 160 innings in a season is \u201ca problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Cole, the Yankees\u2019 rotation is indeed filled with question marks. Masahiro Tanaka is also set to hit free agency, Severino doesn\u2019t figure to be back until midseason as he recovers from Tommy John surgery and team owner Hal Steinbrenner said he \u201cabsolutely had to be comfortable.\u201d Domingo German has \u201cturned his life around\u201d after serving a suspension for violating MLB\u2019s domestic violence protocols.<\/p>\n

The Yankees also will be considering rookies like Deivi Garcia, Michael King and Clarke Schmidt, among others.<\/p>\n

So while the Yankees will certainly be looking for arms this offseason, finding a match could be tough.<\/p>\n

As The Post\u2019s Joel Sherman has reported, they will probably try to stay under the $210 million luxury tax threshold next season, especially given the impact on finances with the impact of COVID-19.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also the issue of Cashman telling Yahoo Sports in 2019<\/a> he didn\u2019t regret not acquiring Stroman at that year\u2019s trade deadline because he didn\u2019t think the right-hander \u201cwould be a difference-maker\u201d in The Bronx and \u201cwe felt he would be in our bullpen in the postseason.\u201d<\/p>\n
