{"id":94972,"date":"2020-10-21T23:44:12","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T20:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/hawaii-restaurants-ban-travelers-from-dining-in-despite-new-program\/"},"modified":"2020-10-21T23:44:12","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T20:44:12","slug":"hawaii-restaurants-ban-travelers-from-dining-in-despite-new-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/hawaii-restaurants-ban-travelers-from-dining-in-despite-new-program\/","title":{"rendered":"#Hawaii restaurants ban travelers from dining in despite new program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Hawaii restaurants ban <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ers from dining in despite new program<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/hawaii-beach.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n                        At least two Hawaii restaurants are asking visitors and travelers not to dine in at their establishments \u2014 despite the state\u2019s new pre-travel coronavirus testing program.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/lifestyle\/thousands-arrive-in-hawaii-on-first-day-pre-travel-testing\">Hawaii launched the program<\/a>, which allows travelers to avoid the state\u2019s 14-day quarantine if they test negative for the coronavirus 72 hours before they arrive.<\/p>\n<p>However, Saenz Ohana Breakfast in Princeville, Hawaii, and the Lighthouse Bistro in Kilauea, Hawaii, would prefer not to have those travelers sitting down to eat.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.khon2.com\/coronavirus\/some-kauai-eateries-are-asking-recent-travelers-to-not-dine-in\/?fbclid=IwAR1AEKJnEtI5PWiINaPWJh8FHERvdNj35DuMuIKzvnOprnahu8m5VQVObX0\">According to KHON 2,<\/a> Saenz, a food truck on the island of Kauai, posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> last week explaining that its seating area is only available to Kauai residents and will be closed to visitors from elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.staradvertiser.com\/2020\/10\/19\/hawaii-news\/2-kauai-restaurants-ban-tourists-from-dining-rooms\/\">The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported<\/a> that the post even said the food truck would check to make sure that people who were sitting and eating had local IDs.<\/p>\n<p>Since it was originally posted last week, the message has been edited \u201cto clear any confusion,\u201d an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/saenzohanabreakfast\/posts\/713390895947575\">updated version of the post read.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe ARE NOT denying service to ANYONE,\u201d the post said. \u201cWe are open and asking that ANYONE who has traveled within the last 14 days to please order online.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The post explains how to order and pay online and that people who order online will have their food delivered to their cars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe only have two tables outdoors for seating, so it\u2019s limited but we are leaving the tables reserved for the customers that have not traveled in the past 14 days or come in contact with someone who has traveled in the past 14 days,\u201d the post continued. \u201cWe are taking these steps to keep ourselves, community, and customers safe during this pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saenz\u2019s owner Juan Saenz told KHON 2 that despite some pushback he\u2019s received, he plans to stick to the safety measures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s supposed to be for all travelers, including residents,\u201d he told the local station. \u201cSo if someone\u2019s coming home from the mainland, and they come to Kauai, we\u2019re asking them to order online as well as if someone\u2019s coming to visit because we feel that the testing system is not 100 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Star-Advertiser, the Lighthouse Bistro posted a picture on social media of a sign on the front door of the restaurant saying that travelers who have not quarantined for 14 days would not be allowed to dine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAttention Bistro Patrons,\u201d the sign reportedly said. \u201cRecent unquarantined travelers do not enter.
