with worries about crude demand as the number of new COVID-19 cases continued to accelerate globally. <\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       West Texas Inter<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>te crude for December delivery<br \/>\n        CL.1,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/211629951\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.36%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       rose 18 cents, or 0.4%, to $40.82 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while December Brent crude<br \/>\n        BRN00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/209704782\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.42%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       the global benchmark, was up 21 cents, or 0.5%, at $42.67 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. WTI was on track for a 0.8% weekly fall, while Brent was down 0.7%.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThere is little in the way of support from the demand side in view of the extremely high number of new COVID-19 cases \u2014 which yesterday climbed to nearly 500,000 world-wide,\u201d said Eugen Weinberg, analyst at Commerzbank, in a note.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is also pressure on prices from the supply side due to the increase in Libyan oil production,\u201d which according to reports has already rose to 560,00 barrels a day as of Wednesday following the reopening earlier this month of the country\u2019s largest oil field. <\/p>\n<p>Oil prices rose Thursday, taking back some of the previous session\u2019s steep gains, but the spread between the December and January<br \/>\n        CLF21,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/209723614\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.36%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       widened by 2 cents, with December trading at a 30 cent discount to January.
