\n This year is the most horrifying concept one man could dream up.<\/p>\n

Nashville designer James Worsham doesn\u2019t usually put up Halloween decorations, but this year he decided to make an exception \u2014 albeit not with the usual ghosts, skeletons and mechanical spiders most turn to.<\/p>\n

Instead, he created a giant wooden cutout of the year 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the scariest thing I could think of .\u2009.\u2009.\u201d the owner of Handy Dandy Productions wrote on a large sign next to a huge wooden cutout of the year, \u201c2020,\u201d with a few pumpkins and corn stalks incorporated for good autumnal measure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had scrap wood laying around so I decided to put it to good use,\u201d Worsham told \u201cGood Morning America<\/a>.\u201d \u201cAnd I\u2019m kind of known for cheesy dad jokes so I figured why not put one literally on my lawn.\u201d<\/p>\n

His joke has resonated with neighbors, who have been stopping by his home to laugh and take pictures of his creation, as well as internet denizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the first time, I decorated for Halloween!\u201d he captioned a photo of the display on Instagram<\/a>, which has racked up more than 2,200 likes.<\/p>\n

While the presidential election, economic recession and ongoing coronavirus pandemic have made 2020 a notoriously bad year for many, Worsham has felt personally targeted with his bad luck: A March tornado destroyed his work studio and then the pandemic, as well as an insurance nightmare, forced him to close his business for four months.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo all of my work dried up. Insurance kind of pulled a fast one on me. We had some, you know, awful family health scares. And it was just pretty much one of the worst years I can remember,\u201d he told CBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yet, despite it all, he has managed to keep up a positive attitude.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, it could\u2019ve been worse, though. I tell myself that every day .\u2009.\u2009. that no matter what, I\u2019m still breathing,\u201d Worsham added. \u201cI can still make a bad dad joke or two. And there\u2019s always tomorrow.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
