“#Hunter Biden venture eyed Cuomo, Schumer for deals: documents<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n A failed Hunter Biden business venture \u2014 which an ex-partner said involved Joe Biden \u2014 targeted \u201ckey domestic contacts\u201d including Gov. Cuomo for potential projects across the country, documents reveal.<\/p>\n

A May 15, 2017, memo naming potential contacts was sent by Joe Biden\u2019s brother Jim to his nephew and three other men who all formed a limited liability company to partner with another firm on \u201cglobal and\/or domestic\u201d projects involving \u201cinfrastructure, energy, financial services and other strategic sectors,\u201d the documents show.<\/p>\n

The other company was backed by a since-vanished Chinese energy tycoon and was to \u201cbe primarily responsible for arranging financing and execution\u201d of the projects, according to the documents released by Tony Bobulinksi, who was CEO of the joint venture.<\/p>\n

The memo, titled \u201cKey domestic contacts for phase one target projects,\u201d noted that Cuomo \u201cis moving forward with major infrastructure projects such as the long-stalled Tapp<\/a>an Zee Bridge replacement and the much-needed redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHis administration has invested nearly $4 billion through the Regional Council and Upstate Revitalization initiatives to jumpstart the economy and support local priorities for development,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

Cuomo was also referenced in an earlier e-mail that Bobulinski released in which another partner, James Gilliar of the consulting firm J2cR, discussed various strategies tied to their business plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeet Gov of NYS\u2009? , if so times\u2009? Meet anyone else\u2009?, are we meeting in NYC or elsewhere\u2009?,\u201d Gilliar wrote on April 27, 2017.<\/p>\n

The memo included no elaboration about Mayor de Blasio but said the then-president of the city\u2019s Economic Development Corp., Maria Torres-Springer, \u201cdrives the physical transformation of New York City, completes major infrastructure upgrades, and encourages the creation of new residential and commercial districts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sen. Chuck Schumer was described as having \u201cmade improving New York\u2019s economy a top priority, bringing affordable air service to Upstate New York and working to successfully retain New York jobs at risk of leaving and attract many new firms to New York.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and New York\u2019s then-commissioner of economic development, Howard Zemsky, were included, as were a number of other officials in Virginia, Minnesota, Florida and California, some of whose relationships to the partners were highlighted.<\/p>\n

The memo described then-California Gov. Jerry Brown as a \u201clong time friend from his first term as governor,\u201d and his successor, Gavin News<\/a>om, then the lieutenant governor, was identified as \u201cHunter\u2019s friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) was described as a \u201cpersonal friend of my friend Billy Rubin and close to my friend Ken Jenne, former Sheriff of Broward County, FL.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, another e-mail sent by Jim Biden on May 15, 2017, and titled \u201cshort list of foreign friends for next phase?\u201d contained a second list of names that included Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, described as \u201carguably the richest man in the world\u201d and \u201cvery friendly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cmentioning Slim now because he is big into racing and has a Formula I racing team and I know you are headed to the Grand Prix,\u201d the memo added.<\/p>\n

Others on that list included the presidents of Colombia and Argentina, and the \u201cEuropean Union in general<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both memos, which appear to have been copy-and-paste jobs, were sent as Microsoft Word documents with property values that show their author as Jim Biden\u2019s wife, Sara Biden.<\/p>\n

In response to the memos, Hunter Biden e-mailed the other partners the next day and expressed concern \u201cthat these lists of contacts and strengths are going to come back to haunt us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hunter Biden suggested the lists \u201ccould easily serve .\u2009.\u2009. as the foundation for the divvying up of territory both geographically and commercially\u201d by their partner in the joint venture.<\/p>\n

\u201cI may be paranoid but having worked in. [sic] The lobbying industry for years these attempts to create focus at the outset always and I mean always ended in disaster,\u201d the e-mail says.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should be thinking what we want to focus on and not who knows who as direction for focus in my opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n

The memos and e-mails are among more than 900 documents Bobulinski made public this week and outline plans for a company called Oneida Holdings to provide consulting services to a company called Hudson West IV.<\/p>\n

The documents show Hudson West IV was controlled by Ye Jianming, then chair of CEFC China Energy Co., and \u201cDirector Zang,\u201d an apparent reference to CEFC\u2019s executive director, Zang Jian Jun.<\/p>\n

Ye disappeared after being taken into custody by Chinese authorities in early 2018, and CEFC, which was China\u2019s largest private energy company, went bankrupt this year, according to reports.<\/p>\n

The joint venture, which was called SinoHawk Holdings, was never funded by CEFC nor did it complete any deals, The Wall Street Journal reported late Thursday<\/a>, citing people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n

SinoHawk was apparently dissolved around October 2018, according to documents released by Bobulinski.<\/p>\n

Cuomo\u2019s office didn\u2019t return a request for comment.<\/p>\n

City Hall said there were no meetings between the Oneida partners and any officials.<\/p>\n

\u201cTake a metal detector out to Rockaway Beach this weekend. You\u2019ll have a better chance of finding something of substance and you\u2019ll get a nice walk in, too,\u201d said de Blasio spokesman Mitch Schwartz.<\/p>\n

A Schumer spokesman said neither the senator nor his aides had knowledge of the memo.<\/p>\n

A Scott spokeswoman said, \u201cSen. Scott wasn\u2019t contacted. He has called for a full investigation into Hunter Biden and the Biden family\u2019s corruption.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe Biden\u2019s campaign, Jim and Sara Biden, and the others mentioned in the memos didn\u2019t return requests for comment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
