{"id":97016,"date":"2020-10-25T02:59:52","date_gmt":"2020-10-24T23:59:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/nfl-2020-receiving-class-is-crazy-good-heres-the-proof\/"},"modified":"2020-10-25T02:59:52","modified_gmt":"2020-10-24T23:59:52","slug":"nfl-2020-receiving-class-is-crazy-good-heres-the-proof","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/nfl-2020-receiving-class-is-crazy-good-heres-the-proof\/","title":{"rendered":"#NFL 2020 receiving class is crazy good: Here&#8217;s the proof"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#NFL 2020 receiving class is crazy good: Here&#8217;s the proof<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n                        You might recall the Great Wide Receiver Class of 1996: Keyshawn Johnson (Jets), Terry Glenn (Patriots), Eddie Kennison (Rams), Marvin Harrison (Colts) and Eric Moulds (Bills), all in the first round; followed by Amani Toomer (Giants) and Muhsin Muhammad (Panthers) in the second round; followed by Joe Horn (Chiefs) in the fifth round.<\/p>\n<p>You might recall the Great Wide Receiver Class of 1985: Al Toon (Jets), Eddie Brown (Bengals) and Jerry Rice (49ers) in the first round; followed by Andre Reed (Bills) in the fourth round; followed by Eric Martin (Saints) in the seventh round.<\/p>\n<p>And you will one day remember the Great Wide Receiver Class of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s good as I\u2019ve ever seen,\u201d legendary NFL executive and historian Gil Brandt said.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the time for young boys to start dreaming about becoming the Next Deion Sanders or the Next Darrelle Revis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll these guys,\u201d ESPN \u201cMonday Night Football\u201d analyst Louis Riddick told Serby Says, \u201care showing the things that they showed in college, and they are delivering. It\u2019s cool to see, because young wide receivers are <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly thought to have a steeper learning curve and take some time. I think it\u2019s tired, but the old perception that rookie wide receivers have to get off the jam in the NFL and that\u2019s the No. 1 thing that they can\u2019t do \u2026 nobody\u2019s really jamming people. And these wide receivers are great athletes, and some of these guys are playing with real good quarterbacks, and they\u2019re putting up real good numbers, and it\u2019s pretty cool to see if you love offensive football.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Henry Ruggs III (Raiders), Jerry Jeudy (Broncos), CeeDee Lamb (Cowboys), Jaelen Reagor (Eagles), Justin Jefferson (Vikings) and Brandon Aiyuk (49ers) all were drafted in the first round. People once thought Tyreek Hill wouldn\u2019t be more than a gadget guy. \u201cJon\u2019ll work with him, he\u2019ll make him a good all-around player,\u201d Riddick said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeudy (17-266-1):<\/strong> Best route-runner in the class, and Riddick\u2019s highest-rated receiver in the draft. \u201cHis ability to get off the line of scrimmage and just set you up in the route and at the break point, nobody was better than him,\u201d Riddick said. \u201cNobody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lamb (36-497-2):<\/strong> A highly competitive yards-after-catch demon. He plays with swag and believes the ball is his. \u201cHe looks like Secretariat against a bunch of trial horses,\u201d Brandt said. Brandt was 9 when Don Hutson caught 17 TD passes for the Packers in 1942. \u201cI compared Lamb to Don Hutson,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd also to [Marquise] \u201cHollywood\u201d Brown, but bigger and stronger than Hollywood Brown.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reagor (5-96):<\/strong> Has missed the past four <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s following thumb surgery. \u201cHe\u2019s a Bob Hayes type of guy,\u201d Brandt said. \u201cBob Hayes could run fast, but he was strong. He\u2019s got that lower-body strength.\u201d Riddick liked Reagor\u2019s speed and toughness and yards-after-catch ability, but was surprised the Eagles selected him. \u201cBecause Justin was still on the board,\u201d Riddick said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jefferson (36-537-3):<\/strong> \u201cHe looks like a three-, four-year veteran already,\u201d Riddick said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aiyuk (14-165-1, 4-69-2 rushing):<\/strong> \u201cA catch-and-run guy, a jet sweep guy who is great with the ball in his hands,\u201d Riddick said. \u201cHe is a big play waiting to h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en. I thought he was kind of a guy that they threw the ball to him and he just jumped up and caught it up over other guys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Pittman Jr. (9-73):<\/strong> The Colts expect him back next week following calf surgery. \u201cReal good high-point skills down the field, strong run after the catch, better playing speed than clock speed. You never saw him get caught from behind,\u201d Riddick said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laviska Shenault Jr. (26-280-1, 10-54 rushing):<\/strong> \u201cThey\u2019re using him in the wildcat, using him like a running back, using him in the slot, using him outside,\u201d Riddick said. \u201cHe\u2019s had circus-type catches where he showed you real soft hands, real strong at the catch point. \u2026 He looks like a tailback. He is a Swiss Army knife that\u2019s gonna be a problem as long as he stays healthy. \u201c A 6-1, 227-pound weapon for Jaguars offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. \u201cYou almost could play him at running back,\u201d Brandt said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KJ Hamler (6-78):<\/strong> The lightning-quick Bronco is expected back from his hamstring woes Sunday against the Chiefs. \u201cHe can be a matchup problem inside, no question,\u201d Riddick said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chase Claypool (17-335-4, 6-21-2 rushing):<\/strong> At 6-4, 228, he reminds Riddick physically of Calvin \u201cMegatron\u201d Johnson. \u201cHis size and his speed and catch radius is just something that Pittsburgh is going to be able to take advantage of for years and years and years to come,\u201d Riddick said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Van Jefferson (6-84):<\/strong> The Rams drafted him two picks before he might have gotten the chance to play for his father, Jets wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson. \u201cVery good pass catcher, doubles as a return specialist, good route runner, sure hands, not the fastest guy in the world,\u201d Pro Football Network\u2019s Tony Pauline said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DENZEL MIMS (0-0):<\/strong> Will be making his Jets debut Sunday against the Bills. Not as polished. \u201cBaylor\u2019s offense isn\u2019t real complicated as far as what they asked him to do, the learning curve would be a little steeper for him, but he made some spectacular catches along the sideline, high riser, go up and get the ball,\u201d Riddick said.<\/p>\n<p>Brandt likes the Raiders\u2019 Bryan Edwards (5-99), a third-rounder, and Riddick likes the Bills\u2019 Gabriel Davis (14-194-2 TDs) a fourth-rounder.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And there are more on the way:<\/strong> The 2021 wide receivers class \u2014 Ja\u2019Marr Chase, Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, Rondale Moore, Rashod Bateman \u2014 is filled with blue-chip prospects. LSU\u2019s Chase is the cream of the crop. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you have the same number of underclassmen enter the draft as is expected,\u201d Pauline said, \u201cit\u2019s gonna be really strong. It\u2019s gonna have better talent at the top, led by Ja\u2019Marr Chase of LSU, and it\u2019s gonna be pretty darn deep. It may be just a notch below last year\u2019s draft class on paper, assuming the top underclassmen enter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brandt: \u201cIf last year was a 10, this is a 9\u200a\u00b9\/\u2082.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Defense wins championships.
