“#Mindhunter: Season Three? Why the Netflix Series<\/a> Is Over, For Now<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Mindhunter<\/i> may not have a season three on Netflix. As we reported earlier this year, the streaming service let the actors\u2019 contracts lapse. And now, executive producer David Fincher has weighed in while promoting his next film, Mank<\/i>. He spoke about the movie with Vulture<\/a>, and he was asked about a possible return for Mindhunter<\/i>.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv, Joe Tuttle, Albert Jones, Stacey Roca, Michael Cerveris, Lauren Glazier, and Sierra McClain star in the thriller which is based on the memoir of FBI veteran John Douglas.<\/p>\n

The Mindhunter<\/em> series ran for two seasons on Netflix, and the second was released last year. The series averaged a 9.46 in our on-site viewer voting and many have been waiting for the third season, but that is not likely to happ<\/a>en. The cost of the series seems to be one of the things causing the series\u2019 end.<\/p>\n

Fincher said the following about Mindhunter:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cListen, for the viewership that it had, it was an expensive show. We talked about \u201cFinish Mank<\/i> and then see how you feel,\u201d but I honestly don\u2019t think we\u2019re going to be able to do it for less than I did season two. And on some level, you have to be realistic about dollars have to equal eyeballs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The series was also exhausting for Fincher, putting in 90 hours a week filming the series. He didn\u2019t know if he had it in him to \u201cbreak season three.\u201d<\/p>\n
