\n The Jets offense will have a new play-caller for Sunday\u2019s game<\/a> against the Bills.<\/p>\n

Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains will be calling the plays instead of head coach Adam Gase, according to a source. Gase has called the plays since he got the job last year, but decided to turn things over to Loggains after the team\u2019s dismal 0-6 start.<\/p>\n

Gase has been doing things looking for a spark and this is the latest. It is a move he has been considering for a few weeks. Free of play-calling duties, Gase will be able to focus on other areas of game management.<\/p>\n

Gase has called plays since becoming an offensive coordinator with the Broncos in 2013. He called the plays as head coach in Miami and with the Jets. Two weeks ago, Gase said he was considering turning over play-calling to an assistant.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think for the last four years, I\u2019ve toyed with the idea every once in a while,\u201d Gase said on Oct. 12. \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019m ever opposed to trying something to change things up. I\u2019d say everything\u2019s on the table at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gase ultimately decided to keep things the same against the Dolphins but after another loss he reconsidered and now Loggains will be the voice in quarterback Sam Darnold\u2019s ear.<\/p>\n

Loggains last called plays in 2017 when he was the Bears offensive coordinator.<\/p>\n

The Jets enter Sunday\u2019s game at or near the bottom in nearly every offensive category. They are 31st in total offense and 32nd in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game. They have scored six offensive touchdowns in six games.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
