\n She\u2019s running for the New York State Ass-embly.<\/p>\n

A progressive candidate for Brooklyn\u2019s 50th District boasted about her immature antics \u2014 including mooning a couple she spied having sex, not to mention throwing a \u201chomeless party\u201d \u2014 in an online journal that recently came to light.<\/p>\n

Emily Gallagher, who is taking on longtime Democratic incumbent Joe Lentol in next week\u2019s primary for the Williamsburg-Greenpoint seat, was a student at Ithaca College in 2003 when she made the sophomoric posts on Livejournal.<\/p>\n

She bragged about having \u201cguts of steel\u201d that September after catching a couple mid-coitus during a trip<\/a> to Syracuse to visit friends.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only did I stare at people who were having sex in front of a window, but I remained even after they noticed me,\u201d the then-19-year-old wrote. \u201cI waved, smiled, and when the girl flipped out I mooned her.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cYou\u2019d think i was on drugs\u2026 but no!\u201d<\/p>\n

In another post two months later, the 36-year-old Greenpoint resident wrote about hosting a \u201chomeless party\u201d with pals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis consisted of me in a hat and scarf, steve in a fur coat, meaghan wrapp<\/a>ed in a blanket and chelle in a garbage bag, passing around a cheap jug of sangria in a paper bag,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was very fun but I had no idea how hard the cheapo crap was hitting me. Before I knew it I was dancing with chelle to no music, and reinacting selected scenes from Fiddler on the Roof.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gallagher is taking on Lentol \u2014 who has served in the state Legislature since 1973 and has faced just one primary challenger since.<\/p>\n

The area has been hotly contested in past primaries. In 2018, progressive Julia Salazar unseated eight-term state Sen. Martin Dilan in the 18th Senate District, which covers parts of Williamsburg and Greenpoint.<\/p>\n

Gallagher, a community activist who grew up just outside Rochester, has been endorsed by progressive groups including the New Kings Democrats and former gubernatorial candidate and \u201cSex and the City\u201d star Cynthia Nixon.<\/p>\n

On her website, Gallagher describes herself as \u201ca renter, a roommate, a cyclist, a commuter. I\u2019ve been unemployed, underemployed, and have known too many months where I scrambled to make rent.\u201d<\/p>\n

After news<\/a> of her past blog posts went viral, Gallagher reiterated that she was running a serious campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s what I\u2019m going to talk about in the last week of this campaign: advocating for renters, workers and small business owners, dismantling our racist criminal justice system, fighting for a just recovery,\u201d she tweeted. \u201cHere\u2019s what I\u2019m not going to talk about: my teenage livejournal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gallagher\u2019s campaign manager Andrew Epstein accused Lentol\u2019s camp of releasing the Livejournal posts, noting the 77-year-old pol has two social media<\/a> consultants on his payroll, which The Post confirmed.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmily has been running a campaign addressing the real issue facing New Yorkers,\u201d Epstein told The Post. \u201cAll this distraction about a teenage girl\u2019s diary smacks of desperation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJoe Lentol\u2019s campaign pays social media consultants to create sock puppet accounts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Lentol\u2019s campaign didn\u2019t comment on the allegations.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
