\n A Kansas dad has been arrested almost 500 miles from his home after being accused of killing his two sons \u2014 and then abducting their young sisters, who were found with him and safely rescued, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

Donny Jackson, 40, was arrested across state lines in Oklahoma Saturday after a truck driver spotted his Honda Accord from hearing an Amber Alert over the two missing girls, 3-year-old Aven and 7-year-old Nora, officials said.<\/p>\n

Jackson \u2014 who was assumed to be armed and dangerous<\/a> \u2014 eventually pulled over near Erick by Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers just before 7 p.m., the force said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis 2 children that were with him are safe,\u201d OHP said on Facebook<\/a> of the two missing girls.<\/p>\n

The rescue came almost six hours after the alarm was raised when a relative found the girls\u2019 brothers, aged 11 and 14, dead at the family home in Leavenworth, Maj. James Sherley of the Leavenworth County Sheriff\u2019s Department told a press briefing \u2014 confirming the dad was the suspected killer.<\/p>\n

Before the bodies had been found, Jackson had been stopped for a routine traffic violation \u2014 but was allowed to carry on with his daughters, who had yet to be reported as missing, Sherley said.<\/p>\n

Less than an hour later, the relative stumbled on the gruesome scene at the family home while checking up on why one of the youngsters had failed to show for a soccer game<\/a>, Sherley said.<\/p>\n

Officials did not detail how the boys \u2014 identified by the Kansas City Star as Logan, 14, and Austin, 11 \u2014 were killed, or how long their bodies were there before being discovered.<\/p>\n

Maj. Sherley said the sheriff\u2019s office previously \u201chad dealings\u201d with Jackson, without specifying what for.<\/p>\n

He said \u201cthere had been some back and forth with family\u201d and investigators were \u201ctrying to determine what went on with the family dynamic that got us to this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jackson is in the middle of divorce proceedings with estranged wife Tara, the mother of the four children, the Kansas City Star said. Photos of the kids used in an online fundraiser suggest they had a baby, too.<\/p>\n

Charges had yet to be filed against Jackson as of early Sunday afternoon, the paper said. His previous attorney in the divorce case \u2014 who withdrew last month \u2014 declined to comment to the local paper.<\/p>\n
