{"id":97469,"date":"2020-10-25T22:43:31","date_gmt":"2020-10-25T19:43:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/early-voters-brave-cold-weather-and-massive-lines-in-nyc\/"},"modified":"2020-10-25T22:43:31","modified_gmt":"2020-10-25T19:43:31","slug":"early-voters-brave-cold-weather-and-massive-lines-in-nyc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/early-voters-brave-cold-weather-and-massive-lines-in-nyc\/","title":{"rendered":"#Early voters brave cold weather and massive lines in NYC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Early voters brave cold weather and massive lines in NYC<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n                        It was another day of hell for early voters in New York City on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Lines snaked around several blocks outside polling sites as residents waited for hours in the chilly temps to vote \u2014 including a poll worker who said it took her two days to cast her own ballot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had showed up yesterday at around 11:30 [a.m.], and the line was close to five hours long, because I had asked somebody at the halfway point how long they\u2019d been waiting,\u2019\u2019 Hezhzibah Strmic-Pawl, 39, a sociology professor, told The Post outside a Bushwick, Brooklyn, public-housing complex-turned-early-voting site.<\/p>\n<p>She left Saturday without voting, only to return Sunday and wait another two hours to finally vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis morning, I showed up 36 minutes before the polling opened, thinking that it would help. But the line was still three blocks long. \u2026 It was f\u2013king really cold,\u2019\u2019 said the prof, who added that she is working the polls Nov. 3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then once I got inside the poll, it was very, very hard to hear anything. The center room where they had folks \u2026 was so tiny and so cramped. \u2026 It gives me a little bit of anxiety about what I\u2019m going to have to deal with [Nov. 3],\u2019\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n<p>Serko Artinian also spent the past two days trying to cast his ballot at the Masonic temple in Clinton Hill in the borough.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went [Saturday], and there were way too many people. I decided I was just going to tough it out. It was cold as hell.
