“#Jets aren’t ‘scared’ of massive Chiefs challenge in Week 8<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n Things don\u2019t get any easier for the reeling 0-7 Jets.<\/p>\n

They now go to Kansas City this week to face the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs. The Jets are a 20.5-point underdog at the moment in one of the biggest mismatches of the NFL season.<\/p>\n

After Sunday\u2019s 18-10 loss to the Bills, Jets players said they are not looking at the Chiefs differently than any other opponent.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going into every game<\/a> preparing to win and preparing for it to be a fight till the end,\u201d linebacker Tarell Basham said. \u201cWe go into every game preparing to win. We don\u2019t go into any game feeling like we\u2019ve got nothing to lose.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jets played their most competitive game of the season on Sunday but still came up short. No one in their right mind will give them a chance to beat the Chiefs, but the Jets can\u2019t worry about that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the same as it is every week,\u201d linebacker Avery Williamson said. \u201cWe\u2019re going in there, trying to take a win. We\u2019re not going to have the mindset of being scared or something like that. We\u2019re going in there to try to handle business.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jets will also get to see old friend Le\u2019Veon Bell, who made his Chiefs debut on Sunday after signing with the team two weeks ago following his release from the Jets. Bell ran six times for 39 yards Sunday, a 43-16 win over the Broncos.<\/p>\n\n

The offensive line was atrocious again Sunday. It allowed six sacks, four in the second half when it could not stop the Bills. The Jets managed just 4 yards in the second half. Much of the blame can be placed on the line, which the Jets revamped this offseason.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey picked up the tempo as far as the pressures went,\u201d Jets coach Adam Gase said. \u201cIt went from we were getting some coverages in the first half and then all of a sudden \u2026 I just kept hearing safety pressure and corner pressure and this backer pressure. They picked up the amount of pressure they were bringing on us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jets had their fifth different offensive line combination this season. Rookie LT Mekhi Becton returned after missing two games, but they were without LG Alex Lewis (shoulder). Josh Andrews started in his place and struggled.<\/p>\n\n

WR Breshad Perriman was being evaluated for a concussion after taking a vicious hit from Bills safety Micah Hyde in the fourth quarter. \u2026 WR Jamison Crowder was inactive after injuring his groin in practice on Wednesday. \u2026 DE Kyle Phillips suffered a season-ending ankle injury. \u2026 This was the first time the Bills swept the season series<\/a> with the Jets since 2015.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
