\n Drew Barrymore cried while discussing her 2016 divorce from husband Will Kopelman during a revealing interview on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old actress reflected on the failure of the four-year marriage on\u00a0Sunday\u2019s Today<\/a> with Willie Geist.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really did not take divorce well. I took it really hard. Even now, I\u2019m just like, oh, it\u2019s such a painful thing,\u201d said the new-minted talk show host.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt took me five years to be able to speak with strength, articulation, perspective, hindsight, and see everything we did right,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause when we were getting divorced, it felt like everything was just wrong. \u2026 I think it app<\/a>lies to everyone who thinks that something will be forever and it\u2019s not.\u201d<\/p>\n

The beloved star said she doesn\u2019t expect to get remarried anytime soon.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like, I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve recovered from that,\u201d said Barrymore through tears.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how to open that up again. It\u2019s like something closed, and it stayed closed. I think I\u2019m equally as scared to find love again as I would be as if it never happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barrymore and Kopleman have managed to put their differences aside to raise their two daughters.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut, the good news<\/a> is that his family and I sort of made the most important choice: to be so together and united and connected,\u201d Barrymore shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s, I guess, what they call family. I know from not growing up with any family whatsoever that that was the last thing I wanted to do for my daughters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barrymore was also married to producer Jeremy Thomas from 1994 to 1995 and comedia<\/a>n Tom Green from 2001 to 2002.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
