“#How to Re-Enable Focus Assist Notifications on Windows 10”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Windows 10\u2019s Focus Assist feature is a handy way of keeping your concentration while working or gaming. Starting with the October 2020 update, Windows 10 now automatically hides certain Focus Assist notifications that alert you when Focus Assist is activated or deactivated. If you\u2019d like to bring them back, it\u2019s easy to change in Settings. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n

First, launch \u201cSettings.\u201d The quickest way to do this is by opening the Start menu and clicking the gear icon.<\/p>\n

\"In<\/p>\n

In \u201cSettings,\u201d click \u201cSystem.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"In<\/p>\n

Next, click \u201cFocus Assist\u201d in the sidebar.<\/p>\n

\"In<\/p>\n

In \u201cFocus aAssist\u201d settings, scroll down until you see the \u201cAutomatic Rules\u201d section. You\u2019ll see four sub-sections: \u201cDuring these times,\u201d \u201cWhen I\u2019m duplicating my display,\u201d \u201cWhen I\u2019m playing a game<\/a>,\u201d and \u201cWhen I\u2019m using an app<\/a> in full-screen mode.\u201d<\/p>\n

For now, turn all four of the Automatic rules \u201cOn\u201d using the switches beside them. Even if you don\u2019t intend to use them later, this will allow you to configure them further in the steps ahead.<\/p>\n

\"In<\/p>\n

Next, we\u2019ll need to visit some hidden sub-sections of the Focus assist page. First, click on the words, \u201cDuring these times.\u201d It doesn\u2019t look like a button, but you can click it.<\/p>\n

\"Click<\/p>\n

A new Settings sub-page will appear. Within that page, look toward the bottom and check the box labeled \u201cShow a notification in action center when focus assist is turned on automatically.\u201d<\/p>\n

(If you don\u2019t see the check box, that means the rule is turned off. Flip the switch for the rule to \u201cOn\u201d and the check box option will appear.)<\/p>\n

\"Put<\/p>\n

After that, repeat the same steps with the other three automatic rules, \u201cWhen I\u2019m duplicating my display,\u201d \u201cWhen I\u2019m playing a game,\u201d and \u201cWhen I\u2019m using an app in full-screen mode.\u201d Click on each, one at a time, and when the new Settings screen appears, check the \u201cShow a notification in action center when focus assist is turned on automatically\u201d box on each page.<\/p>\n

\"Place<\/p>\n

After you\u2019ve checked all four boxes in the four subsections, return to the main Focus Assist settings page. Using the switches beside each rule, turn off any of the Automatic rules that you don\u2019t plan on using.<\/p>\n

\"In<\/p>\n

Finally, look near the bottom of the main Focus Aasist settings page, just below the \u201cAutomatic rules\u201d section. Place a checkmark in the box beside \u201cShow me a summary of what I missed while focus assist was on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Put<\/p>\n

After that, exit \u201cSettings.\u201d The next time Focus Assist is triggered by one of your automation rules, you\u2019ll get a notification about it\u2014just like the good old days. And once you\u2019re done with that particular task and Focus Assist turns off, you\u2019ll get another notification summarizing all the notifications you missed while you were focusing. Stay focused!<\/p>\n
